| | | After several phone calls and talks with the Canadian Armed Forces officer in charge of this base, permission was obtained to enter _and_ take pictures, so last Sunday, the whole crew (Blueskunk, Angel, He-That-Does-Not-Yet-Have-A-Handle and your's truly) made the trip out to CFB Mountainview. We weren't allowed in the hangers on this trip, so had to settle for peering through windows to see what was inside. This is the last home for retired Canadian Forces aircraft before they are sold off or scrapped. The weather was cloudy and cold, but it was worth it. Enjoy CFB Mountainview We still had time left over after, so after a quick bite to eat in Picton, we then set off to Minaker's Auto Parts.

| | | Very cool.. I enjoyed that . Even a Snowbirds trainer in the lineup. I noticed the f5's were all hangared. Interesting. We have a museum around here that has some static displays outside in the weather including several older MIG's, even newer but out of service stuff like the f14 (older model) an A10, and some cool older stuff like the Thunderchief an a Huey chopper. I forgot to get pics last time I went.
I got your tour winner right here pussies, at least he'd crash out trying. |

| | | That was pretty cool. Different from the usual old hospital and drain explorations
It requires wisdom to understand wisdom: the music is nothing if the audience is deaf. |

| | | Canada has an air force? When did this happen? Sorry, guys... I had to be an imperialistic American assclown sometimes... Cool pics, though. I especially liked the Snowbird aircraft. Samurai

What I got from our contact was that since these planes are still combat capable aircraft, and Canada doesn't want to enter the arms trade, they could not sell them, so there they have been stored, still fully flight capable, since 1995. We used the museum angle to get got. Both Blueskunk and I have paid memberships with the Toronto Aerospace Museum. We never thought those would come in this handy, though.

Thank you. We do try to go to places others don't think of.
