| | | I just got photoshop, and I was wondering what picture is better, the photoshopped, or the un-photoshopped.
Un-photoshopped.
Photoshopped.
thanks for the help.

| | | I like the original better, but i dont usually like when people mess with the colors of a pic. It might just be me, who knows. I do however think that photoshop is amazing, and you can do a ton of cool shit, the more you play the more you learn. cool shot.

| | | I like the un-photoshopped version of the walkway with the people, but I like the photoshopped part of the car lights underneath.

| | | I personally like the unphotoshopped one better. I have photoshop but dont use it often. Maybe I just never played with it enough to learn to use it well but I never saw the point in taking a photo because I wanted to remember that moment and then going home and completely changing it. Maybe thats just me though

Yeah, well... street lights aren't the best balanced ambient source one can ask for! I like the original, as the sky is falling within your edited version.

| | | Un-photoshopped. The sky and power lines are messed up in the 'shopped version. I have tried creating a custom white balance with sodium vapor lights before on my 20D with good results. Edit: I just realized that the problem with the sky is all over the place. Look under the bridge on the left. [last edit 1/15/2007 6:44 AM by mogwai - edited 1 times]

| | | Here's a quick attempt at color correction using Color Balance. The best way to tell is by trying to get your whites to be as pure white as possible. I used the light trails from the cars as a guide and went from there. Saved as JPEG. Train your eye to find color casts. This might not be the look you were going for (I think the un-color corrected looks the better of the two).

Exactly. Thats why I carry a white paper and make a custom white balance. Corrections without it are just guesses.

Haha, Thanks. I am actually an engineer who loves to learn about everything technology related. I've been playing around with photography for about a year.

That would work, assuming all the cars in the picture had Xenon headlamps.

i prefer to leave an unnecessarily large amount of post-processing left for me to do. kinda like HDR. zing! okay, that wasn't really a zing. it was close, you must admit.
