The demolition of the old city Power station has begun. The Melbourne skyline will never be the same *sigh*

Lol, only in Melbs can activists plaster graff on power station chimnies n get away with it.

They did the same to the White Bay Power Station chimnies in Sydney and it was painted over within 2 days.

Gunna miss MPS, i just hope a bits left when the next Clannies is on so i can catch one last look.

They actually got caught when the did the final section. They kept painting even though the police were waiting. Their bucket and roller is still (was 2 months a go) sitting in the bottom rung.

Yeah, MPS is/was the topside heart here in Melbourne.

Cheers

That is too funny. I am assuming they did this at night?

Well they painted part of it at night and it took them months to get the second part done so there were these half finished political comments that didn't really make sense.

I *think* they did the second part in the day time. There is some classic footage of a guy called Bob climbing it on one of the Cave Clan videos.

This station is a stone throw away from the second largest railway station in Australia so it's a wee bit obvious

Cheers,

Doug

Yep, still there this week, I think.
Someone actually got a pretty decent photo of it, viewable here
