Does any one here know of anything worth Exploring in ID? I saw the pix of the Albion normal school, but that's the first time i have ever seen ID mentioned here. I travel back and forth to there from Utah occasionally and am curious if anything besides Family, freinds, and cheap alcohol (its *%@# expensive in UT!) would motivate me to spend more time ( or cash) in Idaho...

I visit Washington state frequently, so I wouldn't know too much about Idaho... But Oregon and Washington apartments are real cheap (2-bed suite @ $400/month).

If you're looking for some good places to explore, even in Idaho, try anything that looks interesting and lonely. Old buildings, brick warehouses, rail yards, homeless camps, construction sites, etc. Even just scenery shots are another way of UE'ing.

Good luck!

Plenty of old, abandoned ICBM sites out in the boonies around Mountain Home Air Force Base.

There are no stupid questions, just stupid people.

Last I checked it was... Tumwater, Olympia, border towns to Oregon. But Oregon is still cheaper.

Wouldn't know too much though. I just stay in hotels when I visit.

HOLY THREADJACK!

I didnt think that there were ever any ICBM silos in the area of Mtn Home AFB...I used to train in that area when i was in the National Guard in Boise and there was NO airfarce presence in the area, as most of that area is taken up by the Orchard Training Area (OTA). Far as i knew/know the closest ones were in WY.....not to mention all the out of service silos were imploded or rendered inoperable as part of the SALT II treaty....

Info on the silos in Idaho:

3 sites-one was imploded and/or covered up, one is privately owned, the other is being used as a toxic waste dump. I would say they are not really worth it.

Someday, I would like to make it to the Albion school. They keep talking about rehabbing it, but as time goes by, it may be demolished.

They are in the final stages of tearing down the old Creamery in Meridian. That was a very worthwhile site to explore, but it is no longer.

Plenty of abandoned farmhouses around though,if thats your thing.
