| | Novato Hospital? < on 12/21/2006 2:08 AM >
| | | I was talking to one of my lifeguard co-workers and he mentioned a adandoned hospital in novato that he explored during haloween (I would gues no more the 2 years ago by the memory recal that he had of this place). But I forgot to ask were it is. So does anyone know of or has been to the abandoned novato hospital.

| | | did you fihnd it yet? and why didn't he know any more details? that's pretty bogus to not recall where something as large as a hospital was. you sure it was in Novato?

| | | It does exist and I have explored it several times (and made the original entry in the UE database) It's in the UE database under Untited States/California/Novato. -You'll have to be a full member to view this entry's contents + location. | | | Oh yeah I was actually wondering about that. Is it anywhere near the Hamilton Airfield? Or is that somewhere completely different?

| | | http://www.ipetiti...tion/HFMasterPlan/ It says: "Meanwhile, Novato citizens who live or work in Hamilton still see the remaining properties entrusted to the City left unfinished, like pieces of a ghost town: a theater, a hospital, and an officer's club that all stand abandoned, with broken windows, peeling paint, and weeds all around. A firehouse intended for conversion to a museum is still incomplete and in need of utilities the City agreed to install but still has not, despite funds set aside for the museum in the City budget and despite considerable contributions of work and time by many volunteers. Now, on top of all that, the City is seriously considering closing the Hamilton Pool. " Sounds like there are a few things. The page was dated 2006. Also here are some notes from 2007 about the hospital (search "accesses" and scroll up a bit). They complain about it being an issue. http://www.cityofn...nutes/cc070724.htm
Then, this news article: http://www.novatoa...10/news/news15.txt In which they state that demolition would begin as soon as they approved the plan that I linked to above. Since that was October 2007....I wonder? Looks like if it is there, there is a short timespan to visit. If anyone would let me go with them, I would be very appreciative.
