| | Secret Room in Whitby's Centennial Building < on 11/18/2006 11:31 PM >
| | | hey.. So I had a Camera and I happened across the Centennial Building so i decided to check it out.. it this movie it goes thru the first floor then jumps to the stairs and then gets to the auditorium where it goes dark for a second this is just a dark passage then the room where a couple of dudes were working, they didn't seem to mind me so I hung around and kept filming.. check it out.. the centennial building has a lot of history..It used to be the town hall and was <and still is > a theatre, a meeting place, and the main center of the town. The building next to it is interesting too.. a while back It had a tunnel that connected to the montessori school on byron and dunlop.. It went underground and was used for something or another <I forget now.. Darn I asked the town's historian what it was for and he told me but that was a whole bunch of months ago.. darn.. > I think It was like to move people safely.. ahh well.. newayz, they have since closed the tunnel and now the building is a half way house for the mental hospital.. it has a tunnel going to the centennial building, thats what a surveyor who was working there this summer told me, shes also told me about the tunnel and this led to asking the town's historian about it.. newayz heres the movie.. Enjoy http://s121.photob...rent=centenial.flv [last edit 11/18/2006 11:41 PM by Lord - edited 1 times]

well the chick surveyor said they were blocked off.. i'm sure if you went into the basement of the building you would see where they used to be but you would probably need a pick axe and a shovel.<not to mention a haz suit to ward off the smell, bugs, spiders, and whatever enviro hazards that might be in it> I'm guessing they best place to check might be the montessori school <not the womans college. I thought it was the womans college she was talking about until the historian cleared that up.. you could get commited, get released and have free roam of the building if you really want to check it out

| | | If this was shot by somebody over 10 years old Im going to cry. And how come the grade 10 literacy test is continuing to fail us so? LOL Seriously though, the town historian, Brian Winters, shares more details of the Centennial building in his book. I think its called 'Whitby:Chronicles of a Country Town.' It is a good read.

| | | Stomach churning.... Oh god... bye bye bagel! Gravol time. The best footage I've seen of the Centennial Building was when I caught an episode of "Ghost Trackers".... my kids were watching it, not me.... really! It helped that it was shot at night, and they seemed to have a pretty free roam of the building. If you come across it, watch it on Mute. That Joe guy is annoying. "Hey kid, what are you doing in here" "Nothing, I just have this little bit of anthrax I'd like to put in this here duct work" "Awright, sport, have a nice day".
This species has amused itself to death! |
