|  | | | They wrote in the Welland Tribune that the atlas steels building on Main St in welland I am assuming most of the other buildings as well are starting to be demolished so I will be trying to get in there and take some photos of anything interesting I can find. Also if anyone else wants to check it out before it's gone I suggest you get a move on. There has been a HUGE excavator sitting beside the building for a few days now and the one wall has basically all the steel sheets removed so it has begun.

WTF? Dofasco got demo'd this week too. I can't keep up with this rate of destruction. Its sheer craziness.
I can't find the article u speak of, can you link to it or cut and paste the text into the thread?

| | | | From everything I understand, the miserable state of Welland today is pretty much attributed to the collapse of Atlas' industry in the city. Having lived on my own for ages now, I can honestly say that Welland was the most depressing, dead-end, uninspired city of failed potential and squandered dreams that I have ever lived in - definitely not good for one's mental health, sad to say.
Of course, this will be the first time that one of my explorations is demolished...I wonder how I'll feel knowing that it's "really gone" :Þ

Yes, I was able to witness this 2 weekends ago. Only 2 of the warehouses are actually in the stages of demolition. This accounts for a VERY small portion of the entire place. There's still tons to be explored.
