Went there this past weekend with my group. We met some folks from the Detroit Funk Website as well. Here is some of my picture's I took while I was there. I have more I need to edit.

Nice lighting, I was lucky enough to have an internship in Detroit this summer and got to explore the station as well. From the pictures it appears that you got in the same way that I did, FYI they found a body in the lower level this summer. Creepy and all, but good shots.

Is this a place to visit solo?

I wouldn't recommend going in there on one's own. There are a lot of homeless, not to mention a lot of spots where you may get into some sort of trouble and need help.

Fucking taggers. Next time you go, you should all bring a weapon and wait for the asshats with spraypaint to show up. Then make another body.

Boo hoo!

/Have explored the station solo on three separate occasions and given a homeless guy a sandwich in the station.

Exploring in Detroit solo is perfectly safe. Do it all the time. UERing on the other hand...

that last one is way cool...

Kabbalah is an undramatic tradition that requires great patience and stability. One of the reasons for this tempo is that everyone has to mature his potential gradually and thoroughly at his natural pace. In this way his life's work unfolds at the right moment in his own and the cosmos's time.

Security is in the form of ghettodogs and crackheads. I've lost many good friends to this building.

Nice shots! Did you make the haul all the way up to the roof? I was there on 10/30 (http://www.uer.ca/...d=1&threadid=37339) and it looks like we took the same route in judging by pic #2. Found a much easier way on the way out, though (shhhh.)

I didn't meet anyone there when I went in. Lots of looky-loos driving around the front, but no one came in.

Wish I had a tripod with me, as it looks like you did. That big main hall can be dark.

Awesome pics. Maybe it's just me, but the building is so morbidly eerie. Not to be a total ignoramus, but are there floors in between the ground floor and the roof that one can visit - the pictures always seem to only show the ground floor and the roof, but nothing in between.

This goes back to the idea, u shouldn't explore alone anyways. Go in a group and dont start fronting with your 5d's, that's like, the worst thing to do.

Cool shots, this is a great location!

Yes, but really boring, empty, and totally trashed, obviously been uered often. The lower floors have smashed corridors, the upper floors are just open rooms. yep.
