| | | Climbing and acrobatics. Chimney climbing. Find something on the roof. I really like the idea of just bringing a ladder a few days in advance.

Prolly would work, but it's a lot of trouble to go to. If the owner saw you on it I guess you better be ready to play L&I inspector. You would kindly cut him slack for the numerous violations; taking a bribe from him would offset the rental costs.

| | | You said bolted. I'm sure a wrench would never work on that. Also an extension ladder would get you the height you need. Too poor? Make one out of 2X4's.

| | | I've made simple disposable ladders out of 2x4's before that folded down. I strongly recommend such an item for something like this. Bring some rope so you can get down quickly if you need to. I've even fastened rope to a 2x4 ladder to drop into a place before. It takes 30 minutes to build such a ladder, costs maybe 10 bucks in materials tops. My ladders have wide feet top and bottom but are just a single 2x4 center column with footholds screwed on.

| | | Aw hell, I'd get Scotty to beam me in! Seriously, I look around and if it's too well sealed up, wait until something's breached, or go find another place to explore. With me, climbing is not too good of an idea. Stuff collapsing underneath me just doesn't grab my fancy.

| | | Ok this isnt related of how you get up there, more like did the thought ever occur of such, that when you get up there, maybe all the doors and windows in THAT room your in are shut as well? What is your plan if they are? And secondly how are you going to get down? Sometimes it's easier to get up then to go down. You may need something more rope than a ladder or a VERY sturdy, compliant ladder. [last edit 12/26/2006 4:15 PM by distorted void - edited 1 times]

| | | I just looked at the main picture for the building that you added in the DB, and I almost don't understand how you COULDN'T get in. The lowest open window is within jumping height. I know I could easily run, jump up and climb in that. Yes, you may be a larger person, but that's still a very easy looking entrance. Even a 5 gallon bucket should be enough of a boost to get you in there. Best of luck.

| | | A case of beer and a few sticks of dynamite will get you into almost anything. That's the whole reason Wylie Coyote never got anything to work and catch that stupid roadrunner.......he forgot the beer.
