| | Abandoned School in Ottawa (Orleans) < on 9/27/2006 1:09 AM >
| | | On the north side of Innes Road just west of Viseneau in Orleans is an abandoned one storey stucco school of 1950's vintage. The playground has been developed for bungalows, but the school sits vacant and boarded up. There is way too much traffic to get in at the front, however the plywood has been peeled off in a few spots in the rear. I could have got in, but I was dressed in my work clothes. Instead I was able to get some shots through holes in the glass and wood. Anyone else been here?

| | | I know this school, growing up in orleans, i remember when it was active. an old girlfriend in high school, told me she used to to attend there. I haven't been in orleans in about 2 years til about a month ago, I can't beleive how much it's changed. I used to go offroading and bush parties behind the water tower on innes rd. but is now a parking lot for a walmart and superstore.

| | | Just a note to UEr's: don't bother exploring the 2 nearby abandoned houses. They are monitored regularly by a security guard. I think the city bought them when they expropriated for the Innes widening.

| | | The school is in teh database. The owner is nice and let myself and Kevlar Knight tour around and take pictures. It is alarmed, and monitored. The guy on the right doesnt like it when people set off the alarm as he has to walk over there from his house across the street and re-secure the building. The houses on the other hand are totally empty. There were about 15 of them all along the Innes route, most have been removed by a house moving company in Stittsville that owns them all. You can go by their lot on Hawethorne and see them all if you are bored.

| | | Is this Ecole Priseaux? I use to attend that school, and I know it's for sale. I haven't gotten the opportunity to visit since I'm currently residing in Montreal. If these are interior shots of the school, I'm more then thankful for them! I haven't seen inside that school in 16 years. Edit: My bad, it isn't the same school at all. Mine was on St-Pierre Street http://maps.google...&z=18&ll=45.475401,-75.524054&spn=0.002832,0.005&t=h&om=1 [last edit 11/15/2006 10:04 PM by Boons - edited 1 times]
