Hello there.

Name is Graham but I respond to so many nicknames there are pretty good chances you'll find something to call me. I've only just recently become interested in UE although I have been an avid photographer for 7 years now. I have been using a Manual SLR that my mom bought back when they first became popular (old thing that still worked perfectly). Just recently snatched my Dad's Cannon Rebel XLI.

I'm 21 years old and am studying Environmental Engineering at NCSU here in Raleigh. Been loving the area and as I was an avid spelunker for a while, I'm looking to see the storm drains here. I also love trains and Industrial complexes (grew up in the Newport News/Hampton area and still visit regularly).

I predict Ill lurk for a bit more before attempting to become more active postwise. So I'll pop back up in a few days.

Peace

Hello. I suppose I'm new. Been lurking for a while, but never really had the desire to post here seeing as I haven't yet taken up exploring. Now that summer is here and I have a bit more time on my hands, I figured I'd try and check some places out. I'm also really starting to get into photography, despite having a rather dated camera (Canon powershot G6). Nonetheless, I'm looking to make a new hobby out of this, and this is the site that got me interested so I'll try and contribute.

Oh, and I'm from Ottawa, Canada.

Hey!

I've had an account here for the longest time, but when I registered I had no real UE experience, and I wanted to get a few explorations under my belt before I started posting. Unfortunately, Madison doesn't seem to have very many interesting sites, although I have visited a couple of really cool factories and a few other neat places in the area. Next fall I'll be going to college in Milwaukee, which seems like a fantastic UE city.

I'm a god-awful photographer, so I don't have very many fantastic pictures to contribute, but I love to see other people's work, and pictures of abandonments, drains, etc., fascinate me. This seems like a wonderful community and I'm excited to become a part of it!

Hello, new member here, but not new to UE. I started in the late '80s, before it was even called UE. We called it "stealthing." I live in suburban Cleveland, Ohio and went to school at Ohio University in Athens, which is where I really got bitten by the bug. There are tons of abandoned buildings in the SE Ohio, what with the coal industry all but gone.

My favorite UE of all time was in 1988 or so when we explored the Detroit-Superior Bridge in Cleveland. The second level featured rails for streetcars and has tunnels that run about a mile under the city. They now offer tours.

I also have a 17-year-old son that I introduced to UE a few years ago on vacation in Cape Hatteras, NC, where we checked out the Oregon Inlet Coast Guard Station. It was the easiest fence I ever crossed, since it was covered in sand to the point where the barbed wire was barely visible.

I'm also a Boy Scout leader and as a joke I'm writing a pamphlet for the Urban Exploration Merit Badge. I don't think the BSA will approve it, though...

“We are not going to have the kind of cooperation we need if everyone insists on their own narrow version of reality. … the great divide in the world today … is between people who have the courage to listen and those who are convinced that they already know it all.”

Hey everyone, my name is Johnny. I've been exploring older buildings and military bases for about 3 years now. I'm new here, but I've already found places I never knew existed in my area or areas I've been. I'm from Halifax, NS and look forward to sharing my photos.

hi everyone,

fairly new to the whole UE thing, been going on trips for about a month or 2 now and having a great time. i'm from the gta so most of what i do is in driving distance to there but i'm always willing to venture out if it's worth it.

the last meet up in toronto was the first one that i've done with uer and had a blast. hope to have some photos up soon.

definitely look forward to going on more trips.

Hi, I call myself Salinas Explorer because I am from Salinas, CA and I explore (although Salinas Chicken might be more apt as I tend to run whenever the police or sheriff's show).

I have not really done very much exploring with the exception of the former military base of Fort Ord. Not to say that there is not plenty to look at around here, it is that I prefer looking from a safe distance than from behind bars in the local jail.

I hope to be more active in the future and get over my fear of getting arrested (who really does get over that fear) but we shall see.

As a photographer, I am a rank amateur and not afraid to admit it. I just bought the Canon A630 to use as my starting camera for this new found hobby of mine and so far it has stayed on the "automatic" setting (did I mention I also bought "Digital Photography for Dummies" too?).

I hope that in the future that I can positively contribute to this site because for the short time that I have been here lurking, I love this place!

And if all the wonderful stuff I see now is available to me without the full membership status, I cannot wait to eventually meet you people in real life and be shown the truly wondrous stuff!

This site is absolutely amazing and thank you for allowing me to be a fledgling member of this community.

Hi, I'm Jeb and a nOOb.....sort of, 'cause I registered a while back but never got into figuring out what to do here.

I found y'all via a friend who fancies herself an urban spelunker, though I can't really picture her seriously exploring the kind of racked out places that are the most interesting.

Anywho....I'm going to muddle through and try to share my visions of central Pennsylvania.

I'm somewhat forum.....inured, so feel free to let me know what I do wrong.....I'll live!....LOL!!!

Hi everyone!

I’m from Calgary, Alberta. I’ve known about UER for a number of years and have read some of the posts here, so I have finally decided to join and hopefully make some contributions.

I have been curious about my surroundings from a young age and have done a number of explorations over the years as time and opportunities permit. I discovered the UE community probably around 2003, and I was thrilled to see that there were a lot of people out there who enjoy exploring. I was greatly inspired by Ninjalicious and the content on his site as well as his philosophies.

In addition to all the unseen active and abandoned spaces which surround us in any urban environment, I have a great interest in how buildings and infrastructure are constructed, why they were built and the changes that occur over time. All too often, buildings and other structures undergo changes or demolition with no readily available record of their history.

Photography has been a hobby and passion of mine for most of my life, and of course it goes hand in hand with exploring. I regret not photographing most of my early explorations. I enjoy creating and viewing fine art images, but I also appreciate snapshots since some situations necessitate quick and discreet photography.

I really enjoy all the great stories and photos that people post here on UER and I’m happy to join the community!

Hi everybody,

Just joined the forum. I've done exploration on and off in the Midwest, and got pretty into it in the last several months in St. Louis.

I make drawings of abandoned places I visit. The link to my St. Louis stuff is [http://www.flickr....72157619 667303970/]here [/http://www.flickr...7215761 9667303970/]

I always make them on-site, instead of working from photos (I take a lot of photos of places I visit, too).

I've lived in St. Louis for the last few years, but right now I don't have a fixed "home" and I'm traveling for the next few months. I'm going to be in Moscow for a while and trying to scope out some interesting places to explore while I'm there.

PA is a cool ass state for exploring!!! I love exploring there. You all have SO many cool industrial abandonments.

Hi, all. I'm an urban exploration neophyte living in the Baltimore area, and I only recently discovered the UER forum here. I studied history in college and have a dilettante's interest in photography, but mostly I just enjoy exploring uninhabited places.

I've made some brief excursions into a local storm drain, took a recent jaunt up to an abandoned army base, and wandered aimlessly around some dilapidated seaside attractions (see the attached photo), but I'm really looking to expand my UE horizons. This seems like a fantastic community, and I look forward to taking part in all the madness.

Hi there!

I live in Berlin, and like photography in general. I also love to wander in abandoned places where you can feel a long gone past. I'm not that good in photography but one good thing in urbex is that photography subjects are very patient so I can take my time to shoot. ;)

Anyway.. looking to share some pictures with all of you!

In the meantime feel free to check my Flickr.

Cheers!
