I've been registered for a little over a month. So maybe it's time I introduce myself.
Worst part is I haven't had time to really do anything around here.
I started poking around because someone...well...someone close to me is a member here and I wanted to see what he was talking about. It intrigued me that there are people out there that actually do this sort of thing and the entire activity is interesting, to say the least.
I used to do something similar when I was a kid, but it was mostly just running around the woods up here near the old Republic Steel ore mine areas, but this is really different from what I thought it would be.
He's probably mentioned me, without exactly naming me because he didn't know I was registered here.
Now he does.
So, 33, female, upstate New York and work in a factory, that's about all there is really to know. Paper mills suck, believe me. Especially the shift work.
I'll leave it up to him if he wants to claim me or not.

Hi I'm Heather from NJ. I joined this site a while ago, but since I couldn't post right away, I kind of forgot about it. I love learning about the history of things in my area and seeing pictures of what things used to look like compared to the way it is now. I guess I'm just a very curious person.

Oh finally, I can fricken post

"Sorry, but you need to be registered for more than 7 days before you can post.

You have 0 days to wait."

Ha, that was seconds ago.

I'm Bander, 20 years old from Manchester, New Hampshire. I just started getting into this UE thing and have been getting more and more active.

I've explored a few abandoned buildings and have gotten ontop of a few active buildings. I still have yet to actually go draining (keeps raining here). Draining and infiltration seem to by my favorite methods of UE mostly because of the rush and drains and underground systems are just pretty darn sweet.

http://www.faceboo...f535&id=1326840083 Here's a link to my facebook gallery from my adventures.... I don't have anything in there from the abandonments though.

I do some construction for work, so it's interesting to see how buildings are put together and whatnot.

Hello all - I am new to this site and just began my trips in UE. Love it - and plan to continue. I'm liking this site b/c it links to people in my area - Ontario, Canada, where there are more UE adventures than one might expect! I particularly like institution UE - b/c I like getting the creepy pics and my imagination gets away with me.

hey guys, I am fairly new to UE, but i love it. I'm from Orange County, but in a month, I'll be moving up to Oakland for college. I am really looking forward to finding a lot of great locations to explore up there... and maybe college too. :p

Hello all,
I'm from Sacramento but go to school in San Luis Obispo. SLO seems to be a a pretty big hub for UE'ers and other random hobbies despite its small size.

I've been exploring whatever I can for as long as I can. Most of my exploration is as much of figuring out how things work etc. Hence me picking up lock picking back around the age of 10, and the many many varied interests I've spent time studying and learning.

I currently am an engineering student and when I'm not doing that, I work in theater (the technical aspect) which has many similarities to UE. Staying hidden, climbing, flash lights, the tools, dark clothes, being silent, pulling things out of your *ss to make things work in stressful and time constrained situations.

I haven't done to many "official" UE trips, where I planned to go onto an entire property to explore versus just spontaneously wandering around. I can post pics from my friends and I hiking up to the large scale student housing project still very much under construction when I'm home and have compressed them down to fit the size constraints.

I've been a member for a long time, but I've never actually posted.

My Urban exploration mostly took place a long time ago, back in the seventies and eighties -- mostly draining in my local area (at the time, Oakville, Ontario), along with visits to antenna sites, etc. in the company of like-minded friends.

My interest now is primarily historical -- in particular, the hydro-electric power stations of Niagara Falls. I'm a big fan of the photos of the Niagara Power plants at Vanishingpoint.ca and Worksongs. I'm a bit old to be an active explorer, and in any event it's not currently practical owing to a leg injury sustained in a motor vehicle collision last year.

I learned about the concept of urban exploration from finding the Infiltration site many years back (by accident, while looking for something else). I've grown quite interested in the subject in the meantime.

That's enough for now. Looking forward to learning more.

Hello all, just figure I'll introduce myself. I'm from South Florida which I have come to believe is a UE waste land. Everything is torn down a few minutes after it's been left behind.

Anyway, been reading through the forums and learning a lot of interesting stuff from them. I'm still a novice sense I haven't been into many places (maybe only 1 or 2) but have been interested and known people that do quite a bit of exploring for a number of years now. Just no one that is in the area.

I should have some pictures to show soon of an upcoming expedition.

Hello everyone-

My name is Andy, I am 20 years old, and I am from Clifton Park, NY. I work as an administrative assistant, and I go to UAlbany for school.

I have always been very interested in places that have been abandoned- especially houses or places that people have lived in. I tend to look at an area and try to picture what it was like to have been there when it was occupied. I see what I notice, and then I try to see what other people may have noticed about the same place. I don't really have any friends that share this interest, so I searched online and found this site. It is my hope to meet up with other people in my area (or who are passing through the Capitol District) and go exploring. The UER events sound awesome, too!

I have a lot of other interests, including volunteerism and nature preservation. I am quite intelligent (which I attribute to constantly reading), and one day I hope to become a general physician.

So right now I am working towards a full membership- I bring my camera with me sometimes, and it will be great to add my pictures to the database and see what else is out there.

And for anyone reading, feel free to send me a message and chat!

*wave*
-Andy

Hi... Dee here, hailing from the good ol' UE "wonderland" of Buffalo, NY.

I've heard that Buffalo is one of the 'best kept secrets' of the UE world. I can see why ;) There is a plethora of decay here; industrial, commercial, and residential - both in the city and suburbs.

OPEX is in full swing here, I went to a lunch meeting and plan on going to the dinner tonite. Unfortunately I couldn't participate in any other of their events.

Decay and abandon is quite interesting, both from art and historical perspectives. I try to make pretty pictures of what most normal people would call UGLY - at least I think they're pretty

Eventually I'll put some pictures up here and try and add some locations. You can check out my photo sets (my home page link) if you care to have a look.... see y'all around.

Hey everyone, I've been browsing this website for a long time now, and a few weeks ago I decided it was finally time to actually become a member. It seems like a really interesting and fun place, I can't wait to get to know you guys more.

My girlfriend and I have decided to spend the majority of this summer taking road trips across the North East U.S., and explore abandoned places. We live in Pittsburgh currently, and are willing to drive anywhere in Ohio, or the near WV/Virginia area. Anything a state away (but not on the other side of that state.)

We're both currently 20, and going to Edinboro University of PA.

I'd really appreciate some suggestions of cool places to go around here

Hello everyone,
I live in Central VA. Im 26 years old and have been UE'ing for quite some time now. I've been an amateur photographer for many years and always had an interest in history and all things forgotten. I just recently discovered the massive online community and thought this would be a great place to share my wife and I's explorations.

The past seven days have been absolute hell, yo. I've been wanting to start posting so badly since I found this website!

Anyway, my name is Lauren. I live in what is perhaps the worst part of the USA for urban exploration... Hampton Roads VA. If a building goes abandoned over here, they replace it with a strip mall or an apartment complex within a week (very slight exaggeration). I also don't like the idea of going alone and most of my friends think I'm crazy when I suggest searching for abandoned buildings. Needless to say, I have had very few of my own UE experiences. I've only been to a couple of abandoned houses whilst on a trip to a small town in Iowa. I mostly love UE because I am into photography and I find the isolation and decay of these buildings to be a beautiful subject.

So... that is me.

I'm Ally. I've been a member for, like, over a year, but I just started posting. Go figure.

I live in Streetsboro, OH currently, but I'll be moving back to Warren, OH for a minute before taking a long trek out to the Seattle area.

I've been exploring for around ten years, off an on. Started out exploring things around my town when I was younger with friends and such.I don't get to do it too much anymore, on account of Streetsboro being very suburban. And I don't drive.

Past that, I'm an artist, a roleplayer, and a general loafer.

I'm hoping to find more things to poke my nose into when I get out to Seattle. It'll be nice to have public transit, since I go mostly on foot everywhere.

It's astonishing how much trouble one can get oneself into, if one works at it. And astonishing how much trouble one can get oneself out of, if one simply assumes that everything will, somehow or other, work out for the best.

Hey, I'm a moderately experienced caver, and have tried my hand at some urban exploration, (light draining mainly) but I've been looking to get a little more active in the UE scene.
