I'm relatively new to the definition of what I used to do as being ue. New here, obviously, but mostly lurked and read.

I've had an interest in ue type things since I was a kid in the bay area, cali. Though it wasn't strictly harmless, I did love to find the bigger tunnels in the metro areas and break in to abandoned or evacuated buildings just to look around. I did a lot of 2-3am prowling in lieu of sleeping for school hehe.

Recently, I've done enough to realize my feet are too dainty, so I'm working on that. In the meantime, I just work, and I have one of those jobs where I see decay all the time. Decay and the worst parts of towns, or industrial areas.

I know relatively few people in this, but those I know or have met are very good people. Hope to expand into this all around.

First post, HEH.

Hi. We're new to this but have been a couple places in our area and can't wait to discover some new places. We've already started searching and discovered it wasn't too difficult to discover a few buildings in our own neighborhood that look promising. Can't wait to get back out there and explore and hopefully meet some cool people in the process.

Hey everyone! My name is Will and I've been interested in UE for a while now. I looked around the website about a year ago and recently decided to join. I haven't found any really good places to explore yet but my friends and I have been to a couple interesting places. Oh and I live in South Carolina near Greenville

My name is Casie, I'm 21 years old... I have a girlfriend and we just moved to Owings Mills, MD from Baltimore City.

I've been into photography for about 5 or 6 years now, I have a 2 year degree in Photography as well. I've only just gotten into EU in the last year or two.

I'm really a big fan of fashion photography, as well as modeling myself, but my absolute FAVORITE place to shoot is in a building so old and in disrepair its falling apart. But I haven't had the chance really to take a model out and shoot or go out myself with another photographer, I love dramatic outfits and make up against the chipped paint and splintering wood.

Just one shot of my work because I don't know where my external hard drive is... it's also 3am and I have a job interview in the morning.

Yo!

My name is Scott and I have been into UE since before I realized it had a term and a community of its own.

I'm Memphis born and bred and find the so called abandon "eye-sores" sprawled all throughout the place to be the most enthralling and alluring aspect of the city (that is not to say I don't enjoy an active site once in a while!). I have a couple of people I explore with already, but I'm always looking to get together and explore with some other UEers, so Memphis people PM me!

Also, I'm not too good with a camera, but the places I have been are practically begging to be photographed so I will attempt to take shots on my adventures so I may share them with everybody (hopefully along with some awesome stories!).

I believe I introduced myself before, two years ago, but that was when I was still a whiny sixteen year old teenager.

Now eighteen years old, my interest in urban exploration had not wavered. I still have a keen interest in photography and learning about the history of abandoned places. Due to my "obsession" with GeoCaching, draining is becoming a favorite place for me to explore, mostly for placing/hunting caches and for curiosity's sake. While I have no experience in UE other than climbing down several storm-drains, exploring an abandoned nursing home, and dilapidated houses, I have always wanting to photograph abandoned asylums and bunkers.

Other than that, I don't really have any idea what else to write down.

Hi guys my name is R.J. I live outside ft worth TX im new to UE , well not really new. iv been doing exploration type things for a long time. I never realized there was such a good online community. I love old houses and industrial buildings. Also I enjoy old ignored grave yards. The only thing I’m kinda sketchy about is tunnels or under ground stuff. I’m from Cali and cant seem to brake the fear of earth quakes. I’m excited to meet up and explore with some of you guys. Because I’m new to this I community I have a question. I see there is a Dallas ft worth monthly meet up. Would it be OK for a noob who dose not know anyone to attend? If so , can some one link me the info. If someone would get back to me I would appreciate it.

ayyyy, finally able to post, somewhat new to the site ive been creepin it for a few weeks now, grew up in ohio right next to wildwood waterpark in lorain county (near cleveland), it was this awesome abondoned waterpark around a quarry that was left after kids i went to school with burned part of it down, there was slides, docks, boats everything left there for about 5 years, we used to throw water down the slides in the winter and slide down. then some rich snot bought it and cleared everything. we used to have that place to ourselves as kids other than that ive explored chippewa lake in medina and the castle and other things in elyria and cleveland area. recently moved to colorado springs looking to meet up with some explorers and check some stuff out, i dont wanna be the noob who asks for exact locations, its called exploring for a reason
lookin forward to meeting some cool like minded people

…37533 registered users… feels good to be part of a team!

Been UE since about 1979, just didn’t know what it was called until about a year and a half ago.

I’m a family guy that got into UrbExing laterally via a spontaneous trip to Centralia. Turns out the bug was contagious, and several trips followed – several in the works. Picked up another “hobby” about the same time that helped cultivate the UE bug: 4 wheeling. The two together have given me an excuse to play on the computer with another pass-time; nowadays everybody thinks they’re a movie producer.
This is our "UrbEx commercial":

Looking forward to being an official part of the UE community.

Hello from Ireland.
I found this site by accident as it happens. I was trying to find out what a paper morgue is and I came across some of the hospital pics on this site. (yes I am that thick!!) So then my curiosity lead me to explore the site a bit more and well, here I am.
Since I found this site I have been seeking out places to explore, alredy have my eye on an abandoned house thats near where I work.
I have looked at a good few of the photo galleries and I have to say there are some very talented photographers on this site. Im especially interested in abandoned cars as I am a huge car man, and I work as a mechanic. Seeing how nature reclaims buildings and vehicles is a very humbling thing. I look forward to participating in the discussions and hopefully making a few friends too. And if there are any other Irish people here i'd welcome anybody to send me a message.

Hey, this might be somewhat obvious but i am new here. I am from the northern part of mass, or the southern part of nh depending on which side of the bed i roll out of, however currently i am in boston in school for architecture. I have no experience in UE except for trespassing into an old naval fort which is actually now a state park. i do have experience in rock climbing so the concept of repelling and heights are nothing new to me. also i am an amateur photographer.

Hey guys, my name is Nick and I joined this site a ways back but never got involved due to being busy with school. I currently go Iowa State University but go home to Minnesota over breaks so I am in Ames, IA most of the time.

I've been interested in UE for quite some time now and have done some steam tunnels here and some random buildings but have mostly done it all solo or with an occasional non-UE friend. I have recently gotten my own DSLR and have been getting into photography a lot more. Already looking to upgrade though ;)

Overall just looking to find some people to go with, explore new spots, and have a good time.

Hey! ive been a member here for a bit... just read a bit.. but actually got into urban exploring on my own, with some other of my friends from around here. We are in memphis tn. i actually did a bit of UE before i knew what "UE" was haha.

just a quick list of the building i have done:

Army Hospital (memphis tn)
La Quinta Inn (Memphis Tn)
Allied Van Lines Warehouse (memphis tn)
Sterrick Building (memphis Tn)
A couple of thwarted sears crosstown attempts....

doing the Sterrick again... very very soon... and hopefully the tennessee brewery.

Like everyone else here, we love just exploring, finding places noone else has, and sitting on roofs on looking down on a city bustling with people and noone knowing you are there.

Me and my friends see all kinda of potential sites in Memphis TN, so i look forward to meeting a few people and becoming a FM so i can have resources to find sites around Memphis i may not know about, as well as share some we have found.

good luck and happy exploring!

Hey All!

So yeah, lurked here for years, but under continued pressure from my peers on this site, I've finally given in. lol.

Based out of Toronto, I shoot anything that moves, or doesnt. d60 is the camera at the moment with a Sigma DC 18-50mm 2.8 EX HSM piece o glass, going full frame in the new year with a d700.

I got my taste for UER in my teen years back in the 90's, I still have yet to shake my love for all things decayed and abandoned. In 2011 I hope to get some international travel under my belt and hopefully get to check out some urbex sites along the way.

So to those who know me, yeah, you won, i'm now on "THE site", and to those who dont know me, hello, and I look forward to making some contacts out of here. Feel free to check out my Flickr here: http://www.flickr.com/mistamensa/

Cheers,
-MM
