| | | 40°41'13.03"N 75°21'5.92"W Portland cement plant in Bethlehem, adjacent to Dutch Springs. Access: Wide open. Come during the winter to avoid traffic at the quarry. Stuff: Big shed, machinery, car pieces, railroad tracks, stacks, silos, sometimes a locomotive. Hazards: Cement dust haze. Pictures coming soon...eventually...whenever. Anybody tried this place?

| | | I'm going to be diving at Dutch Springs next weekend, so I might have to stop by and check this place out.

(A) that's not true but that's a debate for another thread. ( if you WISH to be able to continue taking cool pictures of this place, why you would make a thread like this is BEYOND me. Maybe the Jersey scene isn't as "oh my fuck a new place, how about EVERYONE AND THEIR MOM GOES THERE" as up here though. (C) I love cement factories. Nice find!

(A) It's not supposed to be debate, just a reminder to Brind to share his photos. ( Every diver and visitor to Dutch Springs is aware of its existence. No need to whine. (C)

| | | the ( B ) part of my post was just for the good of one's own locations. No whining here. If everyone knows about it, then whatev! It's all good. It just seemed like, from your post, that you had just FOUND it and were like "OH YO CHECK IT OUT". No sarcasm, I really DO love cement factories! http://web.syr.edu...x/world/graveyard/

| | | Sorry, my bad. Actually, I discovered the plant several years ago, but this forum only recently.

| | | I was here yesterday. Unbelievably easy entry, but not much to see. It looks like their doing asbestos removal and such and getting ready to either restore it or tear it down.

| | | To hijack the thread a few miles, Bainbridge Sportsmen's Club in Billmeyer, Pa. is the site of an abandoned in the 1950s limestone plant and kiln. I don't think that all the ruins are the property of the diving operation.
