Just got back from a hometown visit of Picton on the weekend where we also took in a look at the Craig complex 'up on the hill.' Just amazing. We think we were not alone though....Given the popularity of that site, anyone else there last weekend?

not me, but I wish... I love the place.. I've been there about 3 times so far (once on my wedding anniversary with my husband)

/sighs I want to visit again soon.

But I hear that there is tighter 'police security watching over the place.. but everytime I visit we don't see them..

Just some punk kids or some stupid teenagers four-wheeling around the area

No police presence at all. But we heard of some punks getting caught up there a few months ago up to no good. They were given a court date....the judge ordered them to three days of community service cleaning up the main building of the complex. So when you return, you'll see some full garbage bags and swept up rooms.

How long ago were they charged? We noticed some clean-up had been done when we visited for the Belleville UE Meet, which was almost a year ago now.

Ya sure did, the glass was swept up and some of the rooms were defiantly taken care of

Yeah, as far as I heard they were in there a couple months ago for community service. However, every kid in the county has been through there at some time to party and what not, so maybe this is a common sentence for that judge.

I tell ya, I remember going through that place for some community events when the complex was actually in use, and it's terribly sad to see it in decay now. Just a couple years before it closed, it had a big influx of money put into it too. The gym, pool, electricals, all modern.

Anyways...here's some more shots:

I don't remember the pool...where was it?

Here's a lockpick. It might be handy if you, the master of unlocking, take it with you.

We couldn't find the pool either...but it's there somewhere. Apparently, it's not a pool in the traditional sense, but more of a single lane used more for mobility training. From what we heard it is close to the gym....like under it, or the stage area.

My wife's aunt worked there for over 20 years...I should really grill her for info!

There was an area that smelled kinda like pool in the gym but we never came across the pool. Man that bugs me now. Could it have been outside and filled in?

We also considered that possibility. I've been through that entire place, basement to roof, and I've never seen anything resembling a pool. Of course, there could be some areas I haven't noticed.

I was there twice in june (Canada Day and the following Sunday). Had a crazy episode with out 2 way radios. The lines must have been crossed and we could hear kids playing hide and seek and cackling, and it scared us half to death. Ventured up to the third floor and kept hearing people moving, again got kinda creeped out and then called it a day. I went back the next weekend and took a few hours to explore. We forgot flashlight so we didn't venture into the gym. It was weird that every door that was open the week before was locked or barricaded shut. There was also evidence of a recent paint ball game, that may have been going on while we were still there. We kept hearing shuffling on the third floor again, but never saw anyone. I was begging to think that someone lives up there. I found new cleaning supplies in one of the bathrooms???? definitely some odd things in this place. Worth checking out. Took well over 300 photos, so once i figure out how, i'll post a few.

I never saw a pool inside at least.. and I am only assuming if there was one outside, they would have to fill it in for safety reasons.

You'd think if there was a pool outside, there'd be evidence of a filled in area though, kinda of like the wave pool @ wet & wild...

Any news on what's going to become of Prince Edward Heights?

Someone is, or was definitely living in the first small building to the right of the main building (cafeteria?)

Got the Low Down on the pool:

It was outside off a back entrance from a hallway which led to the gym. It was above-ground and probably just disassembled after shutdown.

Sorry to get hopes up about a secret pool room!

When was this?

October, when officer shithead found me. There were blankets, food, clothes and stuff in the room by the piano.

I'd think living in there would have to be risky, as the traffic would have to be pretty high. Now that little secret room on the roof of the main building... that'd be cool.
