Fernald is an old Nuclear Bomb manufacture from the Cold War. In the late 1900s it released uranium into the water wells and still is and i live about 1 mile from it. I have always wanted to explore Fernald but i couldnt do to the high security and the thought of contamination from the harmfull substaces. Yes there is radiation there too. Even now the workers working on the closure of Fernald have to where the radiation suites to protect them. If anyone has herd about Fernald and has further information about it feel free to give it.

seriously now, it took me less than a minute to find out where the place was at.

i just despise people who want to be spoon-fed information.

given that you're from ohio, it should have been even easier for you...

and considering that the place had a bunch of open-pit nuclear waste dumps, i doubt that the security is going to be lax enough to go "explore", so it's a moot point anyhow.

Let's not contradict ourselves now, if I do recall, the last sentence in the original post was something along the lines of "If anyone has herd about Fernald and has further information about it feel free to give it."

Fernaldspecter is asking for a free handout, so I'd at least like to know the location. I ask for the location, and somehow you despise me? Yet the original poster was asking for as much information as possible on a location? Hmm...

1)get a nuke suit
2)contact security and be ready to sign a release form and tell them you're willing to be accompanied at all time while on the property
3)go & take pics

and given that he lives a mile away and took the time to find historical pictures of the place when it was in operation, i think i made a pretty solid assumption in that he has already done the basic google searching.

fact of the matter is that instead of doing a simple internet search and finding out where it's located, you asked someone for the most elementary information, information that is widely available and easy-to-find.

i've no problem with people asking for further information when they've already shown that they can do some of their own legwork (finding historic images and a basic understanding of the site)

All you said was that you despise people who want to be spoon fed information. You never mentioned any technicalities that would bypass that legislation. Now if you want to go and add all sorts of by-laws to help in your decision making process, then doesn't it kind of defeat the purpose of making such a bold statement in the first place?

people that can do their own beginning legwork don't need spoons.

they're deemed to be men and can use a fork and knife.

people (like you) that can't do a simple internet search are incompetent, and thusly, need inordinate amounts of assistance.

Once again you are wrong, for I can do a simple internet search. Here's proof:

Wow, it would be a cool place to explore. If you ever go, you MUST take a geiger counter (or some other radiation detection device) and know a lot about how much radiation you can take. Anyways, you should do your research before/if you go. Radiation is not something I'd like to screw around with.

Word.

The young kids just don't know what respect is these days.
But would you really expect respect at UER?
I know Dev doesn't care, especially from a 17 year old going by Yellow Snow!!!
It's nice to see some people like Dev around here who actually care.
