So im probably really out of the loop, but Should i check out crownsville? It's not exactly hard to find or anything. I heard there was a lot of security, but then again, i heard the same about glenn dale and practically any other place i have visited. Do people still visit it? I heard something about a food bank and i know there was that movie shot there recently with the porn star...is it still any good? let me know. thanks.

-easy to find, yes
-security, yes (mainly maintenance people that will stop you)
-movie w/ porn star, yes (crazy eights)

The place is locked up like a prison. Even if you found an open window or door which is highly un-likely you would be confined to that room. Every room or access to another area is locked. Even if you found your wan in thru a steam tunnel you would be met by 3-4 locked doors.

Go look at the exteriors but they will chase you off if your using cameras... happened to me once.

Crownsville is on my ever growing list of places I'd like to see. I haven't gotten in yet but I know a bit about it. Back in the day it used to be a Negro mental hospital. Somewhere on the grounds is a graveyard for all the old patients and instead of names there are numbers...That's mainly what I'd like to get pictures of. I also know a guy (a customer actually from one of my many retail jobs) who used to work there, but probably best of all, I have a cousin that was in there for about 2 years. I'm kind of wishing I'd gone to see her while she was in if only to get a look at the inside.

As far as getting in, I've heard of security as Dan pointed out, but it doesn't surprise me that all the doors are locked. That place was shut down in the past couple years, it's very newly abandoned. There probably won't be an easy way to get around for a while.

I live in the weak and the wounded...doc.
