| | | It may be frowned upon but most of what I have been doing the past couple years is infiltrations. You need more stuff for that as bypassing fences, locks, windows and doors is very often required. Aside from the normal things like headlamps, suitable inconspicuous attire, camera and ID and the like I have to carry an assortment of tools geared for breaching. I was trained by master locksmiths in the art of lockpicking and surrepitious forced entry. Lockpicks are always with me, padlock shims, modified bolt cutters, wire cutters, duck tape, custom made prybar, collapsable hand operated drill (you push it into what you are drilling, it is like a tube and very compact), concentrated mace fog sprayer and one smoke grenade. Sometimes fences are a pain so if needed I'll bring whatever I may think I will need for walls/fences/gates. All of this may seem excessive but I prefer exploration with danger, it makes it more worth while. All of the above is used regularly but only if necessary, I don't cut off locks unless I really need to nor do I cut my way through fences unless there is no other choice. Even then just a little near the ground is sufficient. I in no way encourage others to do any of this, either carrying the gear I do (as you will get in lots of trouble just for having it if caught) or attempting to infiltrate places with people and security. I just prefer it, the second reason I do this much more often is the great lack of traditional places to explore where I live. You should not by any means break any laws aside from trespassing as we are all guilty of when exploring. UER does not encourage breaking any laws but if you do choose to try your hand at infiltrating a live location be aware of the consequences and prepared to face them. Good luck to you

| | | From what ive seen on the boards, this is what you should have: REQUIRED: -Camera - To take pictures (and an alibi for the police/security ("Well officer, it looked like such a nice place, I was compelled to take some pictures over there) -Flashlight - ...well it helps to see where you're going. -Cell Phone - In case of accident -Long sleeve shirts and pants - In case of cuts -A filtration mask - For asbestos or other airborne threats -A Whistle - In case of accident RECOMMENDED: -Food & Water - For long expeditions. -Binoculars - For Scouting. -A friend - Unless you can brave it alone (& for any accidents that may occur) -A backpack - Unless you dont mind the above in your pockets (With the exception of a friend =) ***Never bring weapons in case of run-ins with the po-po. Or anything you shouldnt have. **It wouldn't hurt to learn some self defense in case something comes up. (I.E. Squatters, Homeless, anyone who could possibly harm you) -Unfortunately, Im still a minor and getting a hold of some of this stuff could prove difficult, the mask for instance.

You should try them on. Depending on your face is, nose size, and how narrow your face is, will determine which one is best. Wilson has had a nice line, even reps in the field that would custom fit large company's workers. The fit is critical; it's worthless if it doesn't fit. Remember to tap the dust out, or carefully use compressed air to do so on non-charcoal filters to extend filter life.

Okay, about that last part. Do you mean tap the respirator to try and remove the junk it filters? Also, does a paintball gun count as gentle compressed air? And about the above post. That's awesome.

the law of across your palm is BS cops say because they don't know the laws.. In IL my Ka-Bar is technically legal.. But I would never carry it, cops don't know the laws and just confiscate blades left and right, it's a complete pain in the ass to get things back from them as well.. and that is only if they just didn't report it and add your knife to thier collection, which happens ALOT.. Protect yourself by knowing the laws, because cops don't always bother to learn them.. don't get me wrong, I hate cops and don't respect them as a whole, but that is in no way me saying some arn't good people just tryin to do thier job and watch out for the general safety.. I have just been screwed around by too many power hungry cops that don't know thier power and expect you to roll over.. In my area there is a lack of major crime which tends to make cops hasle people for stupid shit because they are bored.. Also alot of laws are based on intent, so even if my Ka-Bar is legal if I pull it out or brandish it in a threatening way it just became a weapon.. and as the Ka-Bar series of knives are made as COMBAT fighting knives and the sort they can claim ill-intent on it.. Just look up local laws and don't take some beatoffs word, find it in writing and print it out to present to a cop that don't know the law..

| | | My usual 1337 exploring equips... - 10 single, individually-fused sticks of high-explosive - Nail-clipper dangling from my wrist for cutting the fuse down to size - Fuse-length-to-seconds converter tatooed onto the back of my hand (Ever seen a mugger keep mugging when you stick a stick of high-explosives in his pocket?) (Great for evicting homeless people who won't let you into an abandonment, just level the place and they'll leave shortly after) - H&K MP-5 SD (Factory-installed integral silencer) For anytime you might run into super-bad gangsta ghetto dudes, or an attack-force of angry, determined mountain lions, or a herd of tagger kiddies. - Laser-site and tac-lite for the MP-5 - Night-vision goggles - Full kevlar body-armor - Flame-thrower for those pesky spiders and rats you find in drains and sewers, also works great to clear out the methane. - 60-Minute SCBA - Multi-Gas Detector - Diesel-powered trailer-mounted spotlight - Battering-Ram - hallagan Tool - Hydraulic spreader/cutter - Gas-powered disc-saw - Pneumatic Jack-hammer - Trailer-mounted air-compressor - 1000' of air-line - 500' of hydraulic line - 30,000' of rope - Picture of your mom - TV-Crew for photographing whats left of the locations after i employ my entry-methods - Tractor-Trailer-Based Brewery, for all of my beer-related needs I usually use my apache attack-copter for scouting missions, and then bring my hummer out for the actual infiltration missions... (Towing my air-compressor and my spotlight of course), and afterwards I usually circle back around with the apache and fire a few rockets into the debris-pile where the location was, so nobody can get in to vandalize it. You can ask anyone I explore with, I always have this shit with me. I almost forgot, I have light-reflective "www.uer.ca" decals all over my vehicles, and on the back of my kevlar vest. | | | The Streamlight 3C-XP offers the combination of a super bright Xenon lamp with the superior run-time of LED's. Choose between the Xenon lamp and LED's via a dual switch control.... each function has its own push button on/off switch. The 3 LED's will give you over 300 hours of run-time( on one set of batteries) The battery will support a minimum of 1 hour of LED light after the incandescent (main Xenon bulb) runs out. The LEDs make the light ideal for directing traffic (with optional wand), navigating a cockpit, or to light a path. The Xenon lamp give you power for longer range lighting needs, with a 5-6 hr runtime on one set of batteries, As my back-up I carry the following at ALL times. Features of Streamlight 2L Twin-Task Flashlight: - powered by two 3V lithium batteries, included - 4.8V xenon bulb with adjustable focus - 3 bright white, 100,000 hr life "Nichia" LEDs - 72 lumens, xenon (2.5 hrs run time) - 10 lumens, 3 LEDs (up to 28 hrs run time) - 5.43" long - weighs 5.4 ounces with batteries - anodized machined aluminum body and I carry a Gerber Recoil multi-tool, plus a small first-aid kit. STREAMLIGHT ROCKS! [last edit 6/19/2006 9:42 AM by CaptOrbit - edited 2 times]
