| | | Ahh... the S3100. I own one of these too, but I only use it for scouting now adays. It's not a very good camera for this kind of photography, it's really picky with it's light sensitivity. As for the pics: Number 1: It doesn't really hold my interest. The color scheme is too bland and the glove doesn't look too sharp. Number 2: I'd like it more if it weren't soft. I really like the beam of light on the left side of the photo, nice touch! Number 3: Yet again, you're hurt by softness. Did you use a tripod? The glare of the piano finish really hurts the photo as well. Number 4: No real subject. I see what you were trying for, but it doesn't carry very well. I think a lower angle looking up at the chord could make this a really interesting photo. Overall, I'd work with keeping your camera steady in low light situations and pump up your contrasts a bit to make things pop. A lot of UE photography for me is texture, it proclaims age and decay. I think you're losing some textures in the flatness of the images. Keep shooting and good luck!

| | | The first three seem a little out of focus, but I still like the moodiness of the shots. Four is the best, I think. You have a very individual angle and I like the door to begin with. Good job, it would be nice to see more.

yeah, and the autofocus needs a lot of light to do any semblance of a good job. these images were never photoshopped, give me a little while and i'll have the edited versions up.

| | | i like the title of the thread... at the drive in is god. the lighting seems off in them not really making anything pop out. i like the glove but it needs defined more. maybay play with your exposure time.

| | | unfortunately, you really can't play with the exposure on the s3100. but i do have negs from the same shoot in almost the same place that are in the process of being printed.

| | | The glove is definitly looking better, but the other one is still doing nothing for me. The subject isn't apparent enough. It looks more like you were taking a picture of the wall. I'd try reshooting this one. Good work!
