Rather Simple.

If you like what Shiroi does, go watch him. If you think it's stupid, don't.

Shiroi's a great guy, I've met him, hung out with him, yes even driven him home. I just don't enjoy the antics side, but I'll explore with him any day.

It's not a matter of lightening up.. There are just SOME people that cannot AFFORD to get caught.. I am a full time working mother/wife trying to get into the military next month.

Everyone takes a risk when they trespass. If it's not worth the risk to you, you don't have to do it. Unfortunately in order to do some of the things we like, we have to sacrifice a little caution to avoid turning into that chick from that "Final Destination" movie (I can't remember which one) locked up safe in a room for years avoiding all manner of everything the least bit dangerous. She effectively already gave up her life in order to keep it. That movie was just a comedy, and not a very good one. Don't watch it if you haven't already.

In your case, it's pretty risky to trespass; but I'm not going to tell you not to. It doesn't take a smart person to know the risks, so you don't need to hear it from me. I know that it is riskier to trespass at one of my meets because of the huge groups; but all the people that choose to go, chose to go under the same passion of taking risks that they have for trespassing in the first place.

When Aggresor had said people need to lighten up, maybe that didn't apply to you, but some of the responses here were rediculous and those people really do need to.

On the other hand.. seeing peoples ass cheeks and people doing stupid things to themselves... Well, I can just tune into Jackass or CKY and watch that from the comfort of my own home.

I have a website that's already prepared to present all content recorded from the meets. It'll be up once I have some more content. I hate putting up a website with no chewy meat.

Some people attend this meet because they do like that sort of humor. It's kind of like going to a concert for a local band that plays the same genre of music you like. Some go because you can see it live, and some go because it's more of the sort of content they love and UE is involved.

Unless Shiroi records it and sells it here on UER, I wont be seeing it.

Go kick some ass shiroi, I'm sure you'll be a hoot.

Thanks! You know I'll try, but I usually just end up kicking my own!

I wish you luck on your military career. I have a lot of respect for those who serve. Sometimes I think about serving in the military to get some more discipline and it's good backing in case I ever wanted to be a Fire Fighter (I've been saving for the tuition on a 3 year course). Right now I'm doing the stuntman thing, but I'm sure once I'm older I'll want to settle down a little, I wanted that to fall back on.

Hoots are what I'm made for.

Thanks Axle. I thought it was kind of odd that you had posted negatively against me because I had considered you a friend, but now I think I see your perspective and I can respect it. Thanks for seeing it that way even though you don't like the character I play at times.

EDIT: Small grammatical error that just bothered me more than it was not worth in my time editing it. And Axle did not post while I was posting, I just hadn't seen the latest page when I was posting.

Although I was going to attend the last meet, I had something come up and couldn't go. I've never meet Shiroi, so I got nothing bad to say about him.

This new meet sounds a little extreme, but I'm happy he posted a warning. I only found out after that he's actually a stunt man. Maybe he could have posted this earlier? I have nothing against someone doing jackass stunts and having others watching as I like to mind my own business.

The one thing that worries me is some untrained 15 years old trying something similar because their stupid and they get hurt or worse. That could make this *hobby* appear worse then it is -- even though doing stunts is NOT UE.

All of the people participating in stunts are doing so at their own risk. They know the risks involved. Shiroi himself is trained at stuntwork, and as I said a few pages back there will be a trained medic and a pr rep in attendance to deal with any problems (from injuries to security gaurds) that may arise.

If you are there to watch, you will not be forced into any stunts. So if you like to watch please come! You are more than welcome! If you think it is too riskey to watch in person, we completely understand. We will be filming the stunts, so you can catch the highlights later.

And no, stunts are not UE. But at these meets UE is combined with stunts. Stunt work is risky, and so is UE, so putting them together does pose a bit of an extra risk, but precautions will be taken to avoid being caught. Extreme caution will also be used to prevent damage to any sites we visit. We don't want to hurt any abandonments! Oh how I love abandonments!!! (okay, so maybe I can be a bit creepy lol)

PS: also, although the website is not up yet, there is an "under-construction" myspace you guys can check out if you want. perhaps it will give you a bit more of an idea of what you will be getting into if you come. www.myspace.com/freehealthcare

EDIT: I scuk at tpying.

How is he going to ski down the stairs? I honestly do not know his plan, but I have heard, but I don't remember from who or where, that he uses doors. Is that true? If it is I think your statement is a bit of an exaggeration.

Also, it seems to me that nailing someone's hands to a cross in an abandoned church requires damage instead of avoiding it.

I was going to let this all go until I saw your latest post.

I don't use doors to ski, I use skiis. And no walls or anything will be damaged either.

Where did you hear I use doors? lol, it sounds fun, but yea, that'd probably wreck something. Maybe if it was my door on a set of my stairs, I'll try it someday.

It was going to be a cross. A cross that I was going to bring in, but now it's just going to be a piece of wood...a piece of our own wood. A long time friend of mine is a Christian and made me promise to not link the "stunt" to religion.

Thanks for clearing that all up. Though I must admit I am still a tad suspicious, because I just can't imagine anyone being bothered to bring in a life sized cross. Perhaps this is just because I am lazy.

I heard the door story months and months ago. It really pissed me off, but again, I don't remember how I heard it. I never remember those types of details.

It wasn't going to be life sized, it was going to be a tiny one.

That might have stemmed from me walking in a hallway with a group of people that I had been planning the ski stunt with. I had seen a broken down door and mentioned how wicked it would be if I were to be flying down stairs surfing on a door.

It seems like this really can't be repeated enough:

There is exploration and there is being silly and having fun.

If you want to explore abandonments cautiously or be low key, and work on improving your still life photography skills, don't go to a Shiroi meet. Go to a hamilton meet, or a toronto meet, or any other area meet.

If you want to enjoy yourself and not be concerned about stealth, and be entertained while in abandonments. Go to a Shiroi meet.

If you just want to meet new people, and don't care what you do, go to either.

That being said, I've done serious exploration with Shiroi, as well as attend a Shiroi meet. Shiroi is a good person to explore with, but the Shiroi meet isn't about exploration. Attend at your own risk. Any argument over the quality of the idea is moot.

ps/ I forgot to add; the ski stunt has already been done.

I think Nightbird said it quite nicely there. The Shiroi meets really aren't so much about exploration... as much as it's doing silly stuff *in* abandonments. Kind of a "let loose" from normal exploration.

Just keep that in mind when you decide start a rant on this.

If you are angry at Shiroi for what he does, please, feel free to come to the meet and hurt him in some way. As long as it is on camera and does not do perma damage, thats fine. Just know that the footage will be edited and posted online, so in preforming the act you give us consent to use the footage however we like, and post it wherever we like. basically we have full rights to the footage.

that is not correct procedure. If you film people(at least in the u.s.), you have to have a signed release giving you permission to use their likeness. You may even need two, one for broadcast, and one for film. that's why you see blurred out faces on cops (for perps that are over 18 anyway, minors are always blurred out, I believe.) Faces are blurred even on jackass. It's from people who wouldn't sign the forms, I.E: those who DON'T want you to use their likeness. I, for one, cannot stand to be filmed or photographed, such is why I position myself behind the camera, instead of in front of it.

Well if people don't want to be on film, then they shouldn't hurt Shiroi. Hurting people is also illegal. Unless with permission. So it's kinda like a trade. And if you don't wanna be on film, fine, but no kicking Shiroi in the nuts for you! lol

and if people really want thier faces blurred out that can be arranged, just mention it to me at the meet and I will write it down and give it to the editor of the video clipness.

LOL! Not exactly what I meant, but still, that was funny.
I wasn't saying that people should come and hurt Shiroi off-camera,If somebody came up and started beating the crap out of me, I'd film it, that's not just footage, it's evidence. I was saying that anytime you're filming people, you need to get their permission. Granted this is going to be a non-issue 95% of the time, but I made a T.V show in college, and we got into some pretty hot water for not suppling an image release form to the people being filmed. For a like minded event such as this, You're probably fine. It just never hurts to know the proper procedure in case something should happen (like my ex-potential lawsuit)

Well if your going to the convent I'm thinking off (up town) then I doubt you'd damage anything with doors or skies. I'm thinking that place was trashed when they auctioned everything off a while ago.

There is a guy who lives in there tho, so keep an eye out for him he has a nice setup and is ok.

well I doubt anyone hurting shiroi would dare sue! lol

but you make a good point! thanks for the tip! I have seen a photo release form, and even signed one myself, but I have not seen a video one. I really should get ahold of a video release form and a photo release form. do you happen to have a link to ones that are legal in canada?

Yea, it's pretty wrecked. Pissed me off when I had made return trips to find so many things torn apart. There's pieces of the ceiling everywhere.

I know the area he stays in, I won't be doing any of this near there; but I'm sure we'll probably explore around there since it's still an area to see.

Thanks man! I was going to do it up myself, but now you've saved me the trouble. I'll get a lawyer to look it over.

Once I get more media attention, you can bet that I'm going to have to start doing everything legally, including having permission be in and film in some of the buildings.

EDIT: added response to Axle's post.
