Humili8ions and I checked out a new place 2 weeks ago and I thought I would share a bit of history and pics. The album is located at:

http://www.flickr....otos/97908938@N00/

We came to the conclusion that this building was originally built as either a power plant or boiler building to power and/or heat a large complex of what used to be Pfister & Vogel. Pfister & Vogel was once the worlds largest leather tanning company and had 3 or 4 complexes in Milwaukee. This complex happens to be on the near south side near the Menomonee River valley.

This building in particular was later converted to the original Sprecher Brewery. Sprecher called this building home for a number of years until 1994 when it moved into a newer and larger facility in Glendale, WI. It has since been vacant, however the Sprecher logo is still visible on the smokestack.

Enjoy the pics. I hope to get some more posted soon on Flickr.com

Only the power house is. Well, some of the other buildings there are empty too, but they're all gutted out and half assed turned into condos. Some of the other buildings people live/work in.

hey thanks so much for the pictures. i went in there last nite and it was pretty cool. lots of pools of water and a bunch of areas that are not very abandoned. like lights and new piping and all of that, we could even hear a tv in one end and found a neon sign that said something like marina (?) police. But we found a two cassette players and 2 vhs tapes of the roots. We left through a manhole like right to the right of the transformer outside and had to wait for a car and their headlights to leave first. thanks a lot again.
