One more shout for the Capital Region

I've tried this in the past; I'm trying again....

Anyone in the area?... Troy out there? What about Schenectady... I lived in the Capital Region for a better part of my life and always wondered about, well, all of the explore options.

Any thoughts? Comments?

Cmon.....

i REFUSE to believe/accept/acknowledge that statement... never should the words 'haul ass' and 'minivan' be used in the same sentence with any sincerity.

Sure it can! 2 couch potato parents asses and five overweight rugrats asses with the grease from the quarter pounders streaming down their faces!

On other occasions it just gets groceries.

Yeah, NIR found the blatantly obvious Victory Mill, which I totally overlooked; the whole Victory/Schuylerville area just sort of blurs together.

Hey Logan , Skelly, Dukes, and everyone else..

I have read your posts for some time now, and I can only hope that we might all have the opportunity to "meet" sometime.

I still believe that there are LOTS of sites still available in the area, and while they might NOT be a large site, someething nonetheless.

I posted this some time ago. As A former resident of the area (Albany, Schenectady, Ballston Spa, Etc.) I recognize that there are a lot to still explore. However, some of the best sites might be limited to "local" knowledge or at least sites that are best explored as a group. (pockets of Schenectady back in the day were, lets say, a little dubious (did I spell that right?))

I look forward to meeting up with any of you sometime soon. As I told Skelly, work for the most part dictates my schedule though. Need to change that. The weekend explore limits options to sites close by.

Take care all, be safe.

Now THATS what I'm talking about! I'm happy to see ANYTHING that is NOT a mental hospital

Logan, you can't even begin to realize how much I appreciate you finally posting ANYTHING related to the area. While there might not be many hospitals (mental or otherwise) there are STILL, well there WERE sites available (lol)

Thanks for what is now (unfortunately) the memories. One question though, now that this site is demolished, what is the proposed use for the area that the site was once on? Let me guess, over-priced condos?

Man, if I was rich, I would invest in this area...

Thanks again for the response and info...

Bubba

Talk is residential. But I doubt there would be anything over-priced in Amsterdam. Somehow I doubt they would even be able to fill up the area with residents, everyone is leaving Amsterdam.

Should have detected the sarcasm...

Seriously though, it's sad to see these towns that, back in the day, had so much wealth and activity, become nothing less than a shell. People were leaving in droves back in the day that I was there. I'm surprised to think there are that many left
