| | | | Flour Mill Saturday. < on 6/11/2006 10:04 AM >
| | | Oh, The Flour Mill. It has become such a staple location in the Seattle UE community. I've probably spent 10 hours in the place (since the first time I went with Vision) and have managed to see something new every time. Not to mention, the view from the top is amazing. Does anyone know when they are razing this place? Here are some photos from Saturday...
And here are some Flour Mill shots from past explorations: http://www.flickr....ob/tags/flourmill/ Let me know what y'all you all think! Cody. [last edit 6/11/2006 10:32 AM by vectorsnob - edited 3 times]

| | | Beautiful shots. I like the vignetting, though I have no idea if that's a product of the lens, a filter, or photoshop. Good work anyhow.

Pic2- I thought that was grain on the floor, but oh I was so wrong. Pic7- What do you think is the purpose of all that "structure" on the roof? It's a tad creepy that the TV only gets TBN.

| | | Headed up there yourself, hu? Welcome. The thing on the roof is a cell site. The antennas are off the south west side of the tower and there are directional microwave antennas on the south east silo roof.

Specifically the wood bunks that looks like a chopper pad, the RF equip looks like it doesn't rely on that for support. Maybe they used it to set construction equip stuff down from a crane..

You can see it from the ferry that lands in downtown. It is not out of walking distance but it will be one hell of a boring walk.

What do you mean by doing a painting? Do you make beautiful art with spray paint as well?

| | | I'm also new to this particular site. If anyone is planning an expedition anytime soon I would enjoy joining you. I already know where it is but I have not gone yet because I don't like to go alone. PM me if anyone is going and would like some company.

| | | I'm visiting Seattle the 28th-jan6 - can anyone give me directions through PM or want to go with me? I've explored Maryland and North Carolina extensively, need to continue my love of UE even on vacation.

| | | Just wanted to share an animation we (www.d-kitchen.com) did for the 2007 Sundance Film Festival. Our inspiration, imagery and compositions are lifted directly from some of our explorations, including The Flour Mill. http://www.motiono...k/industry-web.mov
We even put the man-lift from The Flour Mill in there. Look closely. Behind the heart. Cody.
