| | | I guess our European explorer friends just have to keep getting into old castles with tunnels and eventually they'll find some Nazi loot themselves. Twould be great to see some of that plundered treasure returned to it's rightful owners as well. Cheers

| | | Ah, ye olde Amber Room. That is a mystery which I find perhaps the most intriguing of all WWII crimes. I'd totally freak of they discovered the Amber Room in a musty tunnel. Cheers

| | | That is so freaky cool. Thanks for posting the story. As an avid scuba diver, I would love the chance to get into a place like that and look around. I would imagine all the silt would quite quickly take the visibility down to zero, which would be great for setting off the grenades.

Interestingly it was the underwater aspect which particularly got me, as I scuba a bit too (wreck diving is just very soggy UE in my view). And yes kicking up the silt would be a great way to discover the booby traps they no doubt set *grin* Cheers

Explosive false bottoms eh?! Crickey! The treasure hunting consortiums sound like pretty resourceful types, having access to ropework competent, scuba diving, bomb disposal experts! That does sound super interesting, think I need to buy some new rope, 600ft of new rope! JD [last edit 12/2/2006 4:46 PM by Jondoe_264 - edited 1 times]

| | | Wouldn't want to go inside tunnels like that, I remember an event of a bunch of young French kids found back dead in a tunnelsystem that was once used as a part of the V2-rocket installations. They were all found back asphyxiated, although they never found the source they suggested that old boobytraps with lethal gas (probably a blue-cross gas) were concealed in the ceiling of the tunnelsystem by the retreating SS division (who were in charge of the V2 rockets). All those years later some unlucky kids were the victim of these cruel devices.

| | | Sound's like weird to me. It's pretty hard to block a tunnel of 165 m deep, and then, booby trap it.. Sound's like they did it from the bottom, not from the top. So maybe a 3 m deep room is concealed under it and leads to some tunnels. Damn, it sound's interesting. Interesting info is that the Canada received fallen generals of Nazi as immigrants after WWII, maybe someone users of UER knows more than we think..
