| | | Having Trouble... < on 6/2/2006 12:37 PM >
| | | Im having trouble getting into a resovior thats close to where i live... it has a chain-link fence then inside that there is an eletric fence... i found a grill to let exess water out but i would need a portable oxy or a big ass pair of boltcutters! Do you think i should give up?!? This is my back up plan...
Its closed on weekends and the main area that i want to explore has been decommisioned! =D The area that i want to explore is the part with the big chimney also the building in the second picture...
Now I've got that feeling once again, I can't explain, You would not understand, This is not how I am... I have become, Comfortably Numb... |

| | | You said it is a reservoir, which means storing fresh drinking water. If you are caught in there you would most likely be in very deep shit! I would give up trying to access it illegally. You may be able to ask permission to photograph the decommissioned buildings if you ask. That's the only way I would attempt this.

| | | Its the old Power Supply for my town here in Australia so it should be ok... And yes it is for storing the towns water supply... why? is that bad? Oh before I forget, Do people on this site like getting onto roofs and other 'forbidden' areas in Buildings that are still being used? because if they do i have some nice pics of the Sofitel in Brisbane, Australia...

| | | I would try to get permission and if you really don't want to do that, you might be better off in the day on weekends. The reservoirs where I am are fenced off, but it's easy to get around that. The only thing is if you are caught in the day you might be better off then if you are caught in the night, but that's from my own experience.

| | | You can climb over the first fence, and electric fences tend to be low enough to be jumpable or open enough to leave enough room to shimmy under. Chances are that the water is not yet drinkable, unchlorinated, and in reserve. And yes, I love roofing buildings. Take a camera and no cutters / torches (real torches not flashlights). This way you have a good excuse and don't look like a vandal.

Putting biological agents into the water, not that you would, but they could suspect that and hold you on that.

According to the law, that is breaking. Infiltrating active sites may be a rush for you, but if you're having to remove/break/force a way in, then you've crossed the line from UE into Breaking and Entering. Your local laws may vary, but pretty much everywhere, there are rules against forced entry. TMiB

I agree, you gotta be careful with how far you go. Like everyones saying, this is an active water treatment facility, if your caught in there unauthorized you could be in for a LOT of trouble. Its even worse when your convicted under charges of break and enter.

Too bad the police do. They wont care at all what your intentions were. Simply entering unauthorized is a serious offense, more serious than entering many other buildings.

Not to begat a flame war, but I think that one can UE and B&E. Especially with the breadth of the laws on B&E and the broad definition(s) of UE. Anyways, Good job on the entry, only thing I woulda done differently is replacing the louvres. And let us know when you get the pics up. Thanks.
