| | | | Just moved to Peoria! < on 5/21/2006 7:11 PM >
| | | Hey everybody, I just moved to Peoria for the summer and know there is a bunch of good stuff here just from my disorienting drive into the city, and out west a little ways too. But, I would like to find people around here to keep me from getting shot or arrested, and just to go UEing with. I don't know much about the area, so somebody to give me a little direction here would be cool. And if there are any can't-miss sites I should know of that are a bit hard to find, I'd like any info on those too. Thanks

Oh, sorry to hear that... I'm kidding--I grew up in E. Peoria and there is quite a bit to look at in the area. I rarely go back anymore so I can't help much with specific locations (as I recall there's quite a bit of semi-abandoned industry near the river). You may want to look at the skimpy Peoria section of eco-absence.org: http://www.eco-absence.org/il/peoria.htm
This Peoria-themed photoblog, though not directly UE related, has some interesting photos of locations that may be worth visiting: http://namethispeo...rk.blogpeoria.com/
Also, you should log on to the Chicagoland Exploration Forum: http://www.futurespeak.net/bb In spite of the word "Chicagoland" in the title, many of the forum members live downstate and will probably be happy to help you out. Good luck. [last edit 5/22/2006 6:26 PM by NV - edited 1 times]

Me too... I'm over in east peoria actually. Minimum $375 fine in construction zones! Yikes. Thanks for the links though, I shall investigate more. There's definitely a lot more here than what I'm used to, it's gonna be crazy. Thanks again.
