Anything decent around Revelstoke BC?

Anybody know of some decent Urbex sites around Revelstoke? so far my group has only found a lookout tower, a heavy-duty shell storage shed circa 1932, the sewers and the tunnels beneath the high-school. All of the above are extremely small and we're starting to starve here! Anybody know of some places within biking distance of the town?

Mines, MINES, MINES!

Minfile is all you need. I will say no more.

If you ever come to Calgary then email [email protected] and you'll be made welcome, taken to locations and given free accommodation. We'll help save you the $$$ you spend on the flight over here :)

If there were any mines withing biking distance, we would have been high-tailing it over there long ago. Unfortunately, most of them are 40k out of town, and then another 10k up a dirt trail. And all we have is bikes.

On a side note, we are running under the suspicion of abandoned steam tunnels under a local elemantary school, so we're going to try and use out sewer expertise to access those.

I biked 40km over a weekened when I was kid to check out a filled in pit mine.

But if you are a minor you should not be going near any mines anyway. They will kill you straight up.

Mines are for miners not minors!

Perhaps if someone were to join the historical society, the railway museum is a pretty sweet place to check out, and so are the archives.

We were in Revelstoke this weekend. We did not do any UE in town. We did a Lumber mill between golden and Revelstoke and we did an abandoned house south of there on highway 31 after crossing on the ferry.

Wow, Nelson sounds like my kind of place, abandoned rail shops!

In Revelstoke from what I recall there is a large railyard with shops that have been mothballed at least partially. The old bridge pillings past the industrial site up the Illeceliwaet might be cool to check out. There are lots of remnants of old homes and farms given the history of the area, not too interesting for someone looking for big factories and drains.

The mills and the dam would be off limits to explorers your age.
