| | | I have been finding myself in the tunnels under The Evergreen State College. I have no current pictures or photos, I was just wondering if anyone had gotten in there before. I see there is a good amount of info on WSU and PSU, but is TESC so far invasion-free? I feel special if it is.

| | | I never went into the tunnels when I attended Evergreen but I heard stories about how they had previously been fairly accessible and a bit of a place to hang out. Mmmm dirty hippies in confined spaces. Go Geoducks!

| | | I read that the Nite Crawlers visited Evergreen. Unfortunately their attempts to get into the tunnels were blocked because of a locked door.

| | | Have you been to that old brewery? I've been looking for a reason to visit Olympia. Plus your not too far from the satsop reactor.

| | | There are hiccups in getting in now but for a while they were wide open for all to see. I don't know what more to say really (or what more I actually can), but my last 7-9 attempts have all ended in failure. Possibillities are there, it is just an uphill battle. I'll keep you informed if I find a new or unprotected opening.

| | | Careful what information you post on getting inside the tunnels. A search on the internet will take anyone to this page. Who knows if the campus police monitor this site.

| | | I was trying to be. I will be more careful. If things do change then I am open to privately giving maybe a tip or two on email, but I wouldn't do it here. Thank you anyway.

| | | I know the campus police, and there are a couple who'd be perfectly happy to let you in to take pictures. They'll also let you into Happy Land if you ask. I plan to take pictures of both when I go back for graduation in a couple weeks, so if anyone's interested in coming with, I'd be happy to have company.

| | | Wait, happy land is real? I was under the impression it was very fake. It sounds so fake. Cool to know they are so ok about it. I remember I was coming back for the tunnels one time when I got stopped by a campus cop. They asked what I was up to and I said "Breaking and Entering." I felt so clever. Now that I think about it though, I am an idiot.

Happy Land is very real, and is hands-down one of the coolest places I've ever seen. But yeah, as long as you ask and they know you're down there with one of the cops, one of the dispatchers, or even a teacher, they're completely cool with it. Their biggest concern is someone going down there without permission, getting hurt, and having no one know they're down there. Aside from that, you're free to roam, and they'll even point out some of the more interesting spots- like the bear skeleton.

How is this possible? I guess I was doing the wrong thing by getting in myself but just askign to get in kind of ruins it. I have been though just about every inch of those tunnels and have never seen neither a bear skeleton nor anything resembling a "Happy Land". I guess I should just go ask tomorrow and see if they are just as receptive as they were to you. Well now, I feel like a moron. Note- Interesting, two posts in a row ending in me being dumb in retrospect.

Ha ha, don't feel too bad about it! I'm on good terms with the cops- I worked in the parking office for a year. So I know what kind of people they are, I even know where they keep the key. Most people who don't know the cops wouldn't know how receptive they can be to explorers, so don't feel bad about thinking they wouldn't just let you in. It's not something people usually consider. But yes, if you go in and ask nicely if you can explore the tunnels, they'll probably let you. If no one's available to take you, they'll tell you when to come back. Ask for Larry, if he's in. You can ask him about the bear skeleton too- he knows where it is. Or you can always meet up with me when I go back to Olympia for graduation in a couple weeks and I'll get us both in, and anyone else who wants to come. I never did take pictures, and that's something I mean to remedy. Also, Happy Land isn't in the tunnels, it's in the basement of the CAB building. Bring something interesting (but not too big) to leave behind.

I am soooo there. Send me a PM or something of that nature if you can. I'll be the one wearing a red carnation and barret. I only know one guy who would be really interested in going, he and I went and found the place together the first time. Sweet all around.

When exactly are you going to be up here? I'd be interested, but I'm leaving this Friday (the 16th, which I believe is also the day of graduation).

I'll be there the 13th through the 17th, but my day is going to be pretty much packed on both the 16th and 17th. I may have some free time on the night of the 17th, but only maybe. If you want me to arrange some tunnel time for you though, I can still talk to the powers that be on your behalf, whether or not I end up coming with you. I'm probably going to be going on wednesday. Embiggen, sorry it won't work out. Maybe next time!

| | | When I attended Evergreen from 1992-1996 the tunnels were wide open as was the basement and the cages, and you just needed to know someone at KAOS to get the key to the room with the ladder to Happyland. A student who went by Fezdak Clamchopbreath had a cot in happyland and lived up there for awhile. It was also wired for power and had a radio set up. It's a cool place. Have you been out to the alien spacecraft in the woods yet? Oly was pretty different back then. I remember exploring the basement of the capital building several times, even coming across security who just couldn't be bothered to care that we were down there.
