I've bene doing UE on and off (mostly off) since around the 7th grade. We had a lot of abandoned houses and whatnot in my area, but most of them have been demolished to make way for new development.
Anywho, i'm trying to meet up with some like minded people around the area to go exploring with. I've got a few friends from my local computer security/hacking club that are interested in it as well.
if anyone has any suggestions, i'd love to hear them. and if i can find any of my old pictures from exploring the old "haunted" houses, i'll post them.

And although I know I should not take anything personally in these forums, I do feel annoyed that you would try to chastise my good friend BOX about proper etiquette. I understand that you may not agree with his decision on how to respond to Ponyboy, but BOX is one of the nicest explorers I have met, perhaps you should be trying to look beyond his comment as to why such a nice explorer would post such a thing. It is because underage kids come on with their hacker club in tow, asking for locations that they can go out and explore when other explorers have worked very hard and risked a great deal to secure those locations to just be turned over to someone they have never met, to do god knows what in it.

Yes, this is a community for explorers and people interested in exploring, but perhaps you should be extending that same offer of messaging you to such new members about proper etiquette. Perhaps maybe these people should simply start off by asking to meet some of the local explorers instead of just asking for locations. Perhaps discouraging underage kids is actually better for them since this is an illegal hobby to undertake in. Perhaps a lot of things could be done differently on all sides but I am not into politics and I won’t try to set up a mass campaign against minors and newcomers, which is not my intent at all before someone starts quoting me as being an elitist bitch.
If you would like to hand over all the locations you have discovered to these kids and people you have never met then by all means go ahead, I won’t tell you how to handle your UE business; in fact I think it’s nice that some people are still kind to the newcomers and minors on this site; god knows they could use it.
Just don’t expect the rest of us to be as foolish.

i was insinuating nothing about any one person, indeed my comment was targeted at the parent of this article, for much the same reason you outlined above.

my offer to PM me was basically my way of saying what you've just said. i'm not offering any information on sites (i have relatively little to begin with). but i do hold communication to it's utmost. following in that vein, i would just like to state that none of this post was created in anger, instead i replied in an attempt to address and clarify the aspects of Viavinci's post i felt pertained to me. please accept this post as such.
