Well basically on this trip i needed bread crumbs. We had to trek through the woods during mid day to only have to trek back, a different way, with a dead flashlight. It was kind of fun though, since we followed the lights. I did see construction equipment near one of the buildings, and new wires all in the Main Hall. Overall, this place was amazing, the architecture was astounding and it just makes you wonder...Imagine exploring this place, when all of a sudden you see students walking by you, and all of the buildings in their original forms. Nobody would know you are there. It would just be so cool to see that auditorium filled with people, and a performance on the stage. Share your thoughts...ideas...whatever. Thanks for reading.

Awsome pictures and research, pc. And I do the same thing ... I suppose the whole thing works both ways. You go into your local mall, look around and think to yourself about how awesome it will be when it is abandoned. In the same light, you'll go into an abandonment and try to imagine what it was like when it was inhabited. I always wonder what the people thought in a place ... in that school, for instance. Were they cramped? Did they hate it? Did they have the same drama crap we have now? Sorry, my imagination is running away with me again ...

Sorry, I probably forgot my <sarcasm> tags.

I easily take about 150 or more pictures when i go exploring. After awhile i just say screw it and i put my camera away and explore, and it gets so tempting to pull it out sometimes. I usually take a lot so i can mess with them later, or pick out the good ones. Once i become a full member, if that happens, i will be able to put more up and add them to the UE DB.

Nice photos. You captured the place wonderfully.
I was last there on new years day, not much seems to have changed. I plan in going back in the next few weeks.

I'm assuming that was the Powerhouse with the Smokestack?

I'd live there!

Nice Auditorium shots, was that with a tripod or handheld?

Thanks for the compliments....the powerhouse is one of my favorite buildings. Its so sweet looking. Especially when i am treking through the woods and out of nowhere i see this huge smokestack.

And about your question it was handheld...i didnt have room to bring my tripod home on the plane with me....since im in AZ for college.

well i think they are already in the process of renovation. I think maybe just at the beginning, but i did see bundles of new wires throughout various buildings, and construction equipment near the far building. O by the way, does anyone know what is in the truck's trailer. If my memory serves me correctly, it is on the road/path connecting the tome inn, to memorial hall. Im just curious...

I finally got back there a few weeks ago, my camera data says 04/29 and that sounds about right. Here are a few photos from the last trip.

Renovations have started, so get there quick. The headmaster's mansion was covered in scaffolding and there were 2 semi trailers parked at the main building. There was also a few port-o-Potts around the campus, which was nice because if you have to take a shit there, your basically fucked. Also, expect company, I had to hide in the woods for about 30 min from a bus that had surveyors/contractors/security(not sure which) who knew we were there and were searching for us

Both of you, those are great pictures. When did that place close? What are the renovations for? I'm sure it's not reopening as a school...probably condos, right? That daytime auditorium shot shows why I always stay close to the walls of large rooms when poking around.
