|  | | | I have noticed that this "undocumented, untested and unfinished feature" is being used without the "scarlet letter" huge dork label attached. So is this now a feature that certain people are allowed to use?
I am not trying to stir up crap but it is just confusing that nothing seems to be across the board. I did not know there was a issue with using it when I did, as it was not addressed in the FAQ or TOS. And I am in the belief that it is Av's site to do as he wishes and have kept my complaints to myself in that regard. But the fact that I was ostracized for using the feature and now I see someone else doing it, without repercussions, does grate on my nerves just a little. I am usually a happy camper as long as I know the rules beforehand and that everything is fair to everyone. If there is a favoritism thing going on, so be it. I would just like to know that.

The feature never existed officially. I do not expect it to ever be an officially supported feature.

It's one of those features that is undocumented and not really an official feature. Obviously Avatar-X uses, and some of the mods as well. Some users have even taken the time to figure out the new formatting. However, it was never intended to be used by everyone anyway. Too many people figured out how to do it, so Av changed the formatting again.

| | | | Yeah, I know all that. But it was my understanding that it was not to be used at all, excluding Av, of course. All I am asking is that, evidently it is ok for some. Moderators, as you stated. I mean, I could give a crap about it really....but when you log on and your stuff is all changed and you have no idea why, then have to go through a PM discussion and a search on threads to find out you were doing something you did not know was wrong...it kind of gets under your skin.
So, it should just be stated somewhere...some people get to do this and you don't. That is all I am saying.
I go through crap like this all the time at work. I follow the rules I know about it and do what I am supposed to do, then other people don't and everyone gets punished for it across the board. It gets to the point where you wonder why you even do what's right and follow the rules because it doesn't even matter in the end. Sorry for the vent but I just like to understand what is going on and you don't know unless you ask.

| | | | It's not that you did something wrong. Av just decided that too many people were using the "feature". The way it's worked in the past is that Av has allowed people to use it until it reached the point of too many people knowing about it, and then the code was changed.

| | | | Yes, exactly. You didn't do anything "wrong", you weren't "punished", there is no chance you broke a rule or will be banned for this.
I simply made it so anyone who was using the feature in the old configuration would now get a happy "I am a huge dork" picture. The picture would last only as long as they had the unsupported code in their profile. It wasn't malicious, it was just for fun.
If you figure out what the new code is, good for you. Go ahead and use it. But I'll change it again if I see half the forum using it
