| | | 1) Less is more. You don't have to post every pic you take. If you do, we will make fun of you. 2) What the hell am I looking at? Two or three exterior shots, and I still don't know what this place is supposed to be. 3) Extreme closeups can be cool or arty, but if they're blurry and indistinct, they're neither. 4) Shots of garbage are only good if there's something worth looking at in the garbage. If I were you, I'd explore as many places as I could find, take a lot of pics, and then only post the money shots until I had a good handle on what I was doing.

| | | First off, thanks for posting! I noticed some of these pics in the photography forum recently. From what I've seen, it looks like you've found a fun location. Hopefully, it will be the first of many. That said, I have a few pointers that might help you avoid the somewhat arbitrary and whimsical wrath of the locals. When you first post a location, post pictures that give a general impression of the size and structure, and a few of the more interesting features. Try to make these shots as clean as possible. After people have had a chance to look at them and show some interest, post some more 'interesting' shots. Also, consider giving more information about the location. I'm not suggesting you give us a street address (though I see one in a pic), preferred entry point, or other such information, but rather information about what kind of building it is, what you found that made it memorable, and what we should be focusing on in your pictures. I'm not saying you need to go as far as this: http://www.uer.ca/...d=1&threadid=29647 but some background always helps. Last, beware of spelling problems... certain people here are quite fond of finding them. Thanks for sharing!

| | | This place, was once a doctors office. I am sure, quite a few people, have heard of Laser Surgical, Inc, thats the name of the place. Closed sometime, between 1991-1993. I really didn't find much of anything, what I found was Patient files, Garbage, and maybe a couple of the Equitment, that was there. I would of taken better photos if I had my flashlight with me, but I didn't. So I didn't want to take all photos of the building, cause there is a Childern's Daycare right there, and its easy for them to spot me. So I might go back, it just will possible be later on, or this weekend.

I agree ease up on the number of shots you post, most of us will get bored after a couple unless they really get our attention.

| | | Soo. A post of mine got deleted commenting back to you mikie? Guess why? The reason was for not showing "at least some respect for other members." Funny. Respect of 14 year old kids who are too dumb to read other posts and learn from others mistakes. Respect. Here's a hobby many of us take seriously and are forced to deal with people who will never learn. No. I have NO respect for you mikie. Or any other child on this site. I have NO respect for 90% of the members on this site. You haven't earned it. Respect. This is an online community where people are just allowed in with no regulation. I have no reason to respect these people. They have done nothing for me. Av has done something. Ninj had done something. The uncontained torrent of children that are continuously allowed into these boards have done nothing but waste my time. How dare you demand my respect like its something I owe. I owe you nothing. This is the abuse of power. Limiting opinions of members. When there are children here who need to be made example of. Wow. Respect. Incredible. | | | I understand your frustrations, Simian, he's made more than a few innocent blunders upon his arrival, but please consider the following; Did everyone here skip being 14 and having the lack of knowledge and life experience that goes with youth? I didn't. So what's with the heavy-handed treatment of this young guy who is just going through a normal phase of life? He just needs a little push in the right direction and, who knows, he may be your exploring partner one day. If he was being a jerk toward everyone that would be a different case, but he's being decent as far as I've seen.

| | | No joke, Myelin. I applaud the guy for 1) going out on his own 2) posting ANYTHING he's found and 3) responding as wonderfully to the criticism as he has. I know that on the ladder of UE experience, I've only got my hand on side and my foot half raised, so I'm probably not the ideal person to talk about attitudes towards new members, but honestly, how do you expect someone's knowledge to grow if you don't foster it? It's synonymous with smacking a four year old for wanting to read. Share the love! I know I'm thankful to sctag1015, and a few others around here for letting me tag along.
