| | | Looks like a bunch of crappy photos from an interesting basement (cool elevator) under one of Edmonton's older buildings. Certainly no 'underground maze'- the basement has probably just been divided up over the years.

no, not my site. it's a site for a local paranormal group. i don't know for myself in fact what's down there but i've heard from a few people that there's some maze/tunnel/something that connects a bunch of the older businesses.

| | | I have heard rumors about old mines under Edmonton that connect to sewers/storm drains but my research and scouting the area has turned up nada.

| | | I have heard the same regarding the mining tunnels. Someone once said some are up around the beverly area. Coal and gold was pretty important around here, and I suspect clay due to all the old brick buildings. I guess I have to do more research.

| | | There was a document available on the U of A servers that outlined a number of neat little secrets about the campus area. It mentioned a walking tour brochure covering the River Valley, which included stops at old mining shafts along the banks. I'm trying to find that page now, because I think that's something we maybe haven't fully considered as a viable set of locations. [last edit 6/3/2006 2:57 AM by Vapor - edited 1 times]

Beverly in Edmonton; east of 50st /118th ave east to Rundle Park (old gravel pit/coal strip mine/garbage dump) had tons[belated pun] of coal tunnels, contact me if ya need more info.
Also the Fairmont Hotel Macdonald had coal mines entering its sub basements, prior to it's renovation ~1994. [last edit 11/26/2006 11:19 PM by GainersBoogieMan - edited 2 times]
