Toronto Metal Company, not as abandoned as i thought.

I was driving on Lakeshore and saw this place, went to check it out and was confronted by some very hostile people. This place looks completely abandoned, broken windows boarded up doors &c, but i think the back part of it is being used in some way, so if you go be very carful, because the "employees" are VERY paranoid, and very sketchy.

You used to be able to get into that building fairly easily. I thought it was abandoned too but there's a lot of tools and stuff still being stored in the back area. There's also a motion detector in there which I learned about the hard way.

For years I have wanted to see the inside. The front entrance on Eastern is so inviting. Wasnt there a fire in that building at one point?

What happened when you tripped the motion sensor? alarms?

Most of the large front part of that property burned about 3 or 4 years ago, it's probably not very structurally stable. The back part is still active, and I think they're hostile for several reasons, including the fact that most people that sneak into places are either looking to bomb the back walls with graf, or looking for shit to steal.

Incidentally, their parking lot (the one on Eastern near the Price Chopper) is a favourite spot for speed traps, and/or cops on coffee break.

yep.

Yeah, a bell alarm went off and I bolted out of there as fast as I could.

I think a bunch of us explored that last summer -- we found a very innovative way inside, but the guy who initially got in had a bad feeling, he saw too many signs of it being active, so we left. It's not abandoned.

Sorry about that Av, I certainly thought it was abandoned! Seems many are being fooled by the decrepit looks of the place... Nothing worse than going in somewhere you think is vacant only to find out you are very wrong...

I know the feeling, the old PL Robertson Factory here in Milton was the same way, it looked abandoned, but it's not, and they just renovated and covered up all that great old industrial look.
