Raiders of the Lost Architecture
| | Kingston: Apartment Construction site < on 3/6/2006 2:49 AM >
| | | So yeah, hey. To anyone living in/near Kingston, you may have seen or heard about the apartments being constructed on the waterfront fairly near to city hall. My buddy and I went to check it out the other day and came up with some pretty neat photos. Here's the site itself.
Here's my boy on the roof.
View from the roof.
Here's the nearby construction crane. Vertigo!
Me from behind, on the roof.
The "Haunted Floor", that caused us to scurry back in fear at night. It creates a powerful wind tunnel, making a terrible ghostly noise. Plus, it's more derelict than the previous floors. Spooky stuff.
A giant spool for containing God knows how much wire.
Enjoying the view from a lower floor.
The door behind me here was nailed shut and had no handle. Mysterious!
Some showers were lying about the earlier floors. They come in boxes, apparently.
At the bottom, nearby the foundations of the building. There was a giant pit here for some reason.
We're going back in a few months to see how construction has come along, and may go back sometime sooner just for giggles. Also, if this is in the wrong section or I've done this all wrong, have mercy on me, it's my first day.
friggin' racists messing up my generalizations, also stealing my jobs, women. RIP, Ninj. |

Don't call it a comeback, I've been here for years.

| | | Unfortunately the problem with Toronto is that there aren't any places for urban exploration. The city has torn down all of the abandoned and derelict buildings and replaced them with shining blocks of solid aluminum. Sorry, you're out of luck. C.

| | | awesome shots ... that used to be a locomotive building yard ... the area is called 'block d' by most residents ...they're finally building something on the land after 30 years of debate on what to do with it. there's still a really old narrow set of train tracks towards the water in the back corner by the breakwater ... i hope they leave them there as a monument to the 100 years of train building that took place there.
out on a limb ...balancing http://www.snoshi.com |
