What do you mean by shoot? Are you doing paintball? A photographer? Making a movie? Seattle doesn't have much of a UE seen, just a few people out here exploring. Not that I necessarily know of any places to explore...

The problem is that Seattle land is very valuable so when a building gets shut down it is immediately grabbed up and built into something else or renovated if not demolished entirely. Most the good places to go are outside of Seattle and a long drive from anything.

But we do have that short window of time when the building is abandon before it is demolished. That reminds me... There's a parking garage a lot like that. I need to get over there and check it out.

I was not the responsible one. The TV was blasting some horror movie where a girl was in the sewer, getting scared. But we did figure out how to turn on and off the lights. Maybe save the county some money from all that power their wasting...

Oh, Vision, I was wondering if you knew anything about the unfinished nuclear plant somewhere in our lovely state of Washington. I saw it on a Discovery Channel show about the massive earthquake that will certainly kill us all.

Aaw yes, the Satsop reactor. Built but never went online. The cost of demolition is too high so recently turned into a business park. It's located east of Olympia in Elma. Detailed directions on the website.
Don't forget to check out the Hoquiam / Aberdeen / Montesano area.

More photos from The Flour Mill.

What window was broken? It is certainly a shame that the Flour Mill is drawing the attention of kids that just like to "break shit, dude!" I suppose it could be a lot worse, though...there could be anarchy symbols crappily tagged all over the place.

I'd love to go through the flour mill with someone. I've been eyeing it for a couple years now.

Tedder,
Why not just go? I'm sure you could find it. But be careful and be sure to take some pictures.

Good idea, Vision. Might have to check it out next time I'm through there- need to go over to Satsop again anyhow.

Howdy,
I'm new here, but this thread piqued my interest. I'm originally from Tacoma and would often visit the remains of Western State Hospital in Ft. Steilacoom park. It's quite beautiful set up on the top of the hill...especially in the evening as the sun is shining on it.

Anyway, I lived for a short time in Aberdeen when I was 19. Didn't really have a reason to move there, just felt like being somewhere new that was different. Didn't have a car, just an old green Schwinn.

I used to love riding around downtown Aberdeen's back alleys. Nearly moved into The Morck Apartments (http://www.washapts.net) which at the time were just starting to be renovated, one room at a time. You could pretty much do whatever you wanted with the apartment and the rest of the building retained it's curious level of intrigue. Unfortunately, it looks like it's being currently revamped. (http://www.ddseatt...m/InProgress.html_ )

Satsop was mentioned earlier, too. Funny thing is a friend of mine's roommate recently got married and had a wedding reception in one of the new business park areas at Satsop. It was a pretty surreal wedding (in not quite a good way). The location is pretty striking, though, and there didn't appear to be much security if one wanted to snoop around.

I'm curious to hear of other's explorations of Aberdeen...
