More likely no one told him to be a post whore.
He said he doesn't post since he has nothing to contribute. I told him that if he goes on explorations, he can post stories about those. He mentioned that WhiteTrash goes on most with him, and takes the images and posts them in the DB. I then suggested that in that case, when he posts the images in the DB, write a story about the exploration, and use the DB link as link to photos. This was definitely not what I had in mind and at no time did I tell him to be a "post whore".
