On Aurora, just north of the big bridge over Freemont, and on the east side of the street, is an abandoned hotel. I visited it Dec 12 2005. I havent been by since.

At the time, the doors were unlocked, but you could tell they'd been locked & padlocked in the past. Surprisingly, there was no evidence of squatters. I'd think the homeless would enjoy it, but I dont know if owners/cops prevented that.
