Nothing like climbing all over everything with a gun jammed down the front of your pants. "Not like that, boys: You're gonna blow your johnsons off! Do it Police-Style!" - Courtesy of Who's The Man? -ReAct
"'13.2V...' Thirteen volts. It's thirteen volts? Jesus, I could practically be made of salt water and this wouldn't hurt me." "That says '13.2kV.'" "Ohhhh... Thirteen-thousand volts... I suppose that's a little different...." |

| | | We have yet to leave anything behind. We have a random cell phone check as well. And NOBODY is allowed to have their cells on a clip etc. They have to be inside a pocket/pouch/backpack etc.
I also don't carry my wallet on me. Just a few bills and a duplicate of my id as some places won't let you go if your caught without id. The reason we take $ on us is in Long Island if you get caught, sometimes you can bribe the security guards to let you go. Thankfully nobody in my crew has ever gotten caught. We had a few close calls though.

| | | The only thing I've lost was an 7/64" (IIRC) allen key which I had modified to undo the screws that held a basement access grate at an abandoned abbotair (sp) in Bendigo, VIC. I was doing up the last screw on the way out, when I managed to flick it out of my hand, through the grate, and down though the grid that was basement floor and into the sub-basement where it disappeared into what looked like a meter or so of evil-smelling water. As for cellphones, I bought a pre-paid GSM SIM card on eBay, which I set up under an assumed name, and installed it into an old phone I picked up in a secondhand store. That way if I ever lose the phone, it won't be a great loss, and nothing on it will point to me. (The phonebook is empty save for taxi and emergency numbers, I never use the phone outside of UE and erase the call logs prior to setting out)

| | | I forgot a shoe once. I'd brought a pair of steel-toed shoes with me when I went to the malt plant in montreal, put them on as we got at the building's entrance. When we left, I quickly changed back into my sneakers but conveniently forgot to stick both shoes back into my backpack. I only realized it by the time I got home, so the next day I had fun trying to get back to get the shoe. Luckily the thing was right where I'd left it, but it took a while for the damned guys at the garage nearby to go in and stop having the entrance in their line of sight.

Posted by Split I have never lost anything up to this point. I am careful not to lose anything but imagine how it would suck if you went into a building where there is security and you leave id behind (bus pass for example). Later a security guard comes along and finds your id. BUSTED. That would suck so much. After relflecting on this I always check my pockets before leaving a site.
|
If that happened just tell them your wallet or ID was stolen recently, it's as good an excuse as any and they can't prove you're lying. I almost lost my police scanner once, it slipped off my belt while I was crawling through a very narrow tunnel. Fortunately the headphone jack stayed in and the tug on my ear let me know something was caught.

What is a police scanner. I presume it is some kind of police tracker that lets you know when cops are close but can you tell me more?

In many places it is a crime to use a scanner while comitting a crime.
