I live about 2-3 hours from Weston and am planning to go once the weather improves. I know it is a Kirkbride and I found it on live.local and it looks pretty impressive. Security seems pretty tight from what I have heard and I also hear that all the stairs in the Kirk are locked down. At one time there were tours of the hospital but that was shut down by the fire marshal for exposed wires and lack of emergency exits.

I created the UE DB location on Weston. You don't have to be level 3 or whatever to view it, as I opened it to the public. I also do a TON of work with the preservation comittee and my good friend was the head locksmith/maintenance guy there for 30+ years. I've been in, around, through, and interested in that place my whole life. I am still good friends with 2 of the current security guards. I'd be happy to tell you anything you want to know, please be specific!

So is it worth the trip to see or is it too secured? I found out about it on your UE DB location and really liked what I was looking at.

You are free to walk any of the grounds, provided you stay like 20 feet from any building. IMO that is worth it alone if you're down this way. It is way to secure to get into, as the guards patrol the inside of the Kirk on a multi-daily basis. It used to be better but they actually moved the security office from a trailer to inside one of the wards.

It's abandoned
The grounds are open. There is a possibility that I will be able to go up to Weston in two weeks, so let's see. I hope I can, so I can whore out the exterior, hehe.
