I do not have all that much information of this place, mostly word of mouth. As far as I can tell this was on of the larges sock and women's dress factories in the east coast in its heyday. The factory opened its doors shortly after he turn of the century and ran production until the mid 1970s when production was ceased the doors were shut. During the great depression, there was a major union strike in this factory and I have been told that this was the first job site to invoke the Taft Labor laws. In the mid 1980's one of the buildings was used as a multi dealer antique mall. In the late 1990's however all but one of the antique dealers have left the building and the one who remains to this day is in a detached building on the grounds that border with the town's main street(a very nice lady who was able to tell me a little about the history of the factory). Partial demolition has started with the removal of the smokestack and the water towers but no further demolition is planned at this time.
