| | | Hi. Welcome to the Forums A CHUD is ummmm, well it's from a movie, they are some sort of mutant creature that roams the sewers. I believe the name stands for something, but I haven't seen the movie yet, so I can't be positive.

| | | Welcome aboard, Superior Tech. It's nice to have more people from out of North America on the boards. CHUDs are NOT your friends, but are purly made-up creatures, so there's nothign to worry about. Hopefully. Sometimes, I really wonder if Utah DOES have CHUDs. There's a whole ASS load of nuclear waste that gets shipped thourhg our state each month and we DO have a tunnel system... (scratches invisible chin hairs) >_< Mochi, exotic ethnic.

| | | I think Fjael-Raeven (sorry I spelled it wrong...too lazy to look it up) is in the Marburg area if I'm not mistaken. Welcome to the boards PS. I don't think the CHUDs are a major problem in Germany, as I've heard yalls winters are too harsh for the CHUDs to handle.

| | | Wilkommen! Good to link up some international explorers! If you wanna get started with UE, I suggest you take a nice long walk or drive in your downtown area. Look for abandoned or vacant buildings. If you find one you really like, stop in the area and try to get around all the parts of the building. Look for things like security, entry, hazards, lights, etc. Try to get some history on the building too, the municipal site for Berlin might have some info, especially if its a historic building. Good Luck!

Hi and welcome to UER. Germany being an old country and especially Berlin being an old city does have some unique places to explore. Of course Berlin has been lately almost completely rebuilt, but I bet there is still places around. Of course almost every place has the danger of getting caught by the cops...someting which you have to cope with Have you looked this site: http://www.berliner-unterwelten.de/ These are _not_ the best places for a first time exploration, but you might perhaps hook up with these guys. I've wrote with them a year ago and at least then they were active.

| | | Hi Superior! Some places I can recommend: 1. The Reichsbahn/Instandsetzungswerk in Kreuzberg, I think. 2. Some abandoned buildings right next to the Potsdamer Platz, just head for the Bundestag building and then a little later, there are two huge abandoned buildings. Thats everything from the top of my mind, but berlin is full of awesome UE stuff.

| | | Superior Technology welcome aboard. I really have to question that there is nothing to explore in Berlin. It's like saying there in nothing to explore in Moscow for example. The difference between America and Europe is that most of the objects in Europe are underground. Spend some time doing research in Library. Especially Arcitecture department of Local Univercity. Talk to professors. Learn hostory. Germany has I say the most to explore. Hitler was like a Stalin he built a city under city.

The problem being, that German officials have lately destroyed the remaining underground bunkers and tunnels from WWII era. There's not much left, because of the fear that neon-nazis will use these places as somekind of "place of worship". Ostwall, the defence line in east have still a remaining sections, but there the problem is, that for example Seelow Heights, still contains quite a lot of mines and other explosives. The heat wave last summer, exploded many of these mines there. Not a too safe place to visit...

I've heard there are people in Germany who explore such areas and dig up old military weapons for sale to collectors and criminals (bolt-action rifles can be easily restored to working condition even after being buried for 60 years). Have you ever run into any such people while exploring?

I haven't actually physically met anyone, but for my visit to Osmussaar (the former soviet military base) I did ask an advice from one Russian guy and when I started to look more closely their web site, I noticed that they dig up everything that they can find from the ground. I would assume that Russia has more of these type of people than Germany. Russia being a larger country, thinly populated in many areas and contains many large battlefields from WWII, makes it ideal for dig up items. My feelings about this are mixed. On the other hand, if it's done legally and human remains and dog tags are informed to officials, it's a good thing. But then again, if you are selling everything you find from the battlefields, it comes a bit unethical I think...

| | | They call them Black Strider in Russia. It was a really popular activity after WW2 but still popular nowdays. They collect whatever they can and sell it to the dealer for cheap. Good preserved German hardhat 10-20$. Dealer will sell it for 200-300$. But they have people like us they call themselves diggers. They too hate those Black Striders. Cuz they will take anything value. Anything even color metals like bronze and aluminium. Just to sell it. Poor contry with no laws what else can I say
