I'm Rain !
I'm from Toronto, Canada & I was SO damn thrilled & grateful to come across this AWESOME website & these forums, LOL!!, because I am & always have been, absolutely FASCINATED w/ old, abandoned buildings/houses.
At first I thought I was one of only a few, but was very surprised & happy to see how many other people were interested in this stuff too, hehe! And how could we not be!? - old, lonely buildings are amazing when you think about it! - all the history behind a lot of them, and the neat stuff you can find there, etc!! OMG, it's just so exciting, lol  !!!
Anyways, so yea...I just thought I'd say hi & introduce myself to everyone & stuff. And oh yea, before I forget...there's something that's been bugging me for SO long that I think would be PERFECT to post here, lol;)! - well, there's this old building in Scarborough, (where I used to live)....I'm not sure whether it's a house or some other kind of building, but it's abandoned & has been for many years. From what I know, it's now being "fixed up" inside, (and it's unfortunately also boarded-up & locked on the outside too @ the moment) , which I am naturally VERY upset about, because I have desperately wanted to explore in there since I was a little kid, LOL!!! And my brother actually did manage to explore it w/ some friends when he was younger, when it was first abandoned & before it got boarded-up - (I ENVY him, man);)!! But anyways, getting to the point, hehe;) -
I'm not sure if anyone know's this area/road or whatever, but it's on the corner of Kingston Rd., & Meadowvale, (in Scarborough, hehe);), and it's pretty old & VERY intriguing...! I think it's 2 stories high and it has an old blueish/grey & white porch, (w/ an old, beautiful design on the top), and around the back/(to the side of the building), the porch extends & there's a door, but it's boarded-up, (like all the other doors). And there are MANY windows all around the building, (some broken/cracked); and around the building, there's some rubble/broken wood & concrete, etc & overgrown weeds/grass, & a bus-stop sign right in front, and right @ the very FRONT of the building, like where the very front of the porch is, - (the entrance/front door most used for the public, before it was abandoned), there's a sign posted on the door, (which is locked w/ a very tricky bolt-lock, which was IMPOSSIBLE to open, much to my dismay)!, and the sign says - 'This is a renovation/restoration project by the Culture Division/City of Toronto', (or something to that effect), and it gives a phone number to call for more information!
So, for MONTHS now, (maybe almost a year)!; I have been DESPERATELY trying to find out about the history of this building; - (what it was/was used for when it was first built, what year it was built, who it belonged to, whether or not it was haunted, etc), LOL;)! But, sadly...I have found nothing at all. I can't even find the name of the building, (like ya know how sometimes an old building might've been called the "Something" House'), etc? But nothing. It's like somebody doesn't want it to be found !!! Very strange, man. The only thing I know about it is that it was once & BRIEFLY, (many years ago); an Antique Shop, but only on the bottom floor....the old couple who sold the Antiques told my parents when they went in only once, that the top floor was not to be used, off-limits & dangerous!! My mum, (who is a witch/Pagan & psychic), told me she got the vibe that the top-floor was most likely haunted!, but she wasn't completely sure...but then not long after, the old couple couldn't pay rent anymore & they abandoned it. But that is all I know...!
Anyways, I know - that was the LONGEST message, LOL:">!!!, so I will wrap it up now;). But I just ask that if anyone knows which place I'm talking about, &/or if they have ANY information about it @ all, to PLEASE contact me, &/or reply to this message ASAP, hehe;)!! I'd really appreciate it.

| | | | Hi Rain, welcome. Just one question: did you call the number on the sign? (the one that says City of TO/Culture Division). If not, they'd probably be a good source of info about the house if you call and say that you are a student (or some other likely story). They might even offer to show it to you, if you talk to the right person and word it right. Check out the postings around here on social engineering.
