My friends and I have been there a bunch of times when it was around. Its since been torn down. We walked everywhere in the mall, on are many visits. We went most of the stores, we walked through back passageways, we found the jail, and we even found out how to get on the roof. Many memories from this mall, its a shame even though we went there a bunch of times, I never took any pics of the inside.

| | | | I used to live in Illinois and have no clue where Waukegan is, lol. But there seems a lack of DB listings and the like for Illinois. I havent seen half the places I have been to mentioned on the forums or DB for that matter! Same with Indiana, where I am now. Only thing to do is grab a camera and go!

| | | | Boy howdy have I been in there! I was allowed to tag along with some contractor buddies. There really wasn't much to see. Basically you could get into some of the shop access halls and poke in and out of the shops. I will say that Carson, Pirie, Scott was the best of the bunch. You could easily access the three main levels of the store, as well as a nifty little sub-basement that had a bunch of utilities and elevator maintenance access. I did have a strange feeling standing in the central area and seeing none of the familiar things like the hanging "seagull" sculpture and shop signs. Just an empty cavernous space with skylights. Believe me, I wish I had brought a camera, but it was kind of an impromptu thing. I have a lot of fond childhood memories of Lakehurst when it was still in its prime, and I'll miss it.
