| | | | Bye bye funeral home (chicago) < on 1/13/2006 4:59 PM >
| | | Hi guys and gals! I'm a brand spanking new member here. I dunno what took me so long to join, but I'm glad I did. I figure I'm just going to jump right in - if I step on any toes or do something "wrong", please let me know!
I've been exploring for quite some time... I actually started before I even knew what "Urban Exploration" was - we just called it "oh crap, was that the cops?" One of my first was the Masonic Temple in Marshall Michigan. My latest is a funeral home that I found in a state of being torn down. I haven't seen anything else online that someone else has been there. If anyone would like me to post more details about the history/location and such about the funeral home, please ask. Be aware, however, that it's now nothing but a firmly tamped down pile of rubble. Here's the best of the best of the photos (praise be to Imageshack!)
The embalming table... The first thing I came upon after climbing in a window.
Closet of smocks in the embalming room.
Warning labels on the death juice cabnet.
The second floor. I have so much more. It was an awesome, awesome find. If anyone's into like a full "case file", lemme know!

| | | No, they tore down all the cool history in that area!! Although I don't know how historic that funeral home was. There used to be those old row houses just south of the Gap, one of them had a bar called Trader Todds, loved that place!! Hell, I think the Gap is even gone isn't it? Chuck
