I wanted to know how many of the worlds fair sites are still standing. I know that the one in Queens New York is still there and I think the 1967 one in Canada still has some stuff. Those buildings are the coolest looking things if you dont know about it google Worlds Fair Queens New York or Expo 67 Canada.

Or look at this site http://www.expomuseum.com/

The one in San Antonio Texas has jack shit besides the tower. everything else that made it the cool location that it was is long gone. RIP monorail!

I have changed my personal exploring ethics code. From now on it will be: "Take only aimed shots, leave only hobo corpses." Copper scrappers, meth heads and homeless beware. The Jonsered cometh among you, bringing fear and dread.

I haven't been in forever, but the SunSphere in Knoxville, TN from the 1982 World's Fair is still there. It was even featured in a Simpsons episode, heh.

What means this seemingly nonsensical grouping of letters? Could it be a code?

If, sir, you are asking "Who is this F'er", then I'm just a rando that's kinda new to UER.

If, uh, you aren't, then... Qué?

A large portion of the Riverwalk and the hotels and restaurants were built to accomodate the world's fair. The Hilton down there was acutally built offsite, room by room, hauled in by truck and put together like jigsaw puzzle. Not really UE related, but pretty cool...

You said you rememeber it from an episode of The Simpsons. In the Simpsons several of the letters fell off the sign and Bart asks what's a "wods fir?"

I'm a maniac of anything and everything related to Expo67 and I have an extensive collection of memorabilia from it (posters, music, plans, maps, clothing, jewelry, dishwares, etc.). I've been inside of all the pavillions that were still standing back in the 80's. Some of them are still standing today. Check out the UEDB for more info on Expo 67 under Canada/Quebec/Montreal/Ile Ste-Helene.

I'm currently writing a book on Expo 67, which I hope to publish in time for the 40th anniversary in 2007.

Yes. in recent (and upcoming) years : Hanover 2000 (Germany), Zaragoza 2008 (Spain), Shanghai 2010 (China).

You can actually check out with your gov. how to apply to work at your country's pavillion

You know, I'm not exactly sure if the Pavilion is still standing. After doing some research, on http://www.forgotten-ny.com/ , there is no mention of it still standing. Either that site can help give you information on it, or this one, which has very detailed reports and descriptions of all the pavilions and attractions.

http://www.nywf64.com/

And go here for the IBM Pavilion: http://www.nywf64.com/ibm01.shtml
