| | | the third is the strongest, im my opinion, but needs better framing; cut-off at the bottom of the frame.

| | | In terms of composition and exposure and such they are all pretty decent, #3 seems little out of focus. In terms of content, none of them really do anything for me.... bad graffiti and mundane public spaces.

| | | I had a feeling content wouldn't exactly be appealing to you guys on here... I take all kinds of artistic photos. I dont really like to just stick with one subject, especially one that you have to go so far out of your way to take pictures of. ;) The third is pretty neat in my opinion, I liked it because of the colors. When I had it on my camera I was thinking oh man this is gonna be great but then I was a little upset when I noticed I cut off the bottom... Oh well maybe next time. Thanks for the comments, guys.

| | | So we can't appreciate general "artistic" content because we focus on UE here? It annoys me when people use being "artistic" as an excuse for boring composition. That said: #3 has the aforementioned potential, though I'd also want the horizon leveled. #4 would interest me a lot more as a vertical composition that emphasizes the feeling of the canyon formed by the buildings on either side and the height of that fire-escape.

| | | sheesh I didn't mean it like that at all... different content appeals to different people. This is UE so I figured that there wouldnt be too many people interested in the content of most of my pictures(not necessarily these)... Thanks for the tips, I will definitely be thinking about that next time. [last edit 12/16/2005 4:36 AM by newc5188 - edited 1 times]

| | | well i like three and four the best, four is my fav out of these, althought it would be nice to have another building on the right side to almost point to the stairs up there, but i don't suppose you could throw a building right there, try doing it at a different angle to get it more symetric... and yes, 3 is a little out of focus, higher f-stop will fix that up for ya, but i suppose you already know that -Nick

| | | I like the first the best out of the set--the ugly tagged wall leads into the unconventional right framing against the fire escapes. What I don't like about it is the stronger tag in the near center of the photo.. That's distracting.

Your pics are good. Alot of people on this forum are not pro's at taking pics. We all learn as we take more and more pics. Keep doing what you are doing.
