If I wasn't so lazy I could probably add at least 5 or 6 places to that too.

I wouldnt use that as an economic indicator MI NY lots of places have more abandoned stuff than we do. Isnt that why all those folks moved down here back in the 70s and 80s?

Ever heard of an abandoned insane asylum in Texas? We need all our state hospitals up and running.

Go Texas! I love my second home. But sorry, Alaska is the largest.

I have changed my personal exploring ethics code. From now on it will be: "Take only aimed shots, leave only hobo corpses." Copper scrappers, meth heads and homeless beware. The Jonsered cometh among you, bringing fear and dread.

I would argue, and Alaska would seem to prove my case, that square miles does not equate into abandonments either. The NE, New England, all the rust belt states, Chicago, Detroit upstate NY, PA all have been around longer and have more manufacturing and have had large populations, hospitals, and stormwater drains even before Texas was a republic. They pics those guys put up are fantastic and old skool cool.

Do we have any shortage of stuff to explore. I think not. There has been some discussion that theres nothing left to explore in the Metroplex. Horse shit. Is there as much as NY, probably not.

We have plenty of "locations" left. I just started keeping track and before years end I will try to upload my 50th and thats just since I started using UER.

mechfreak57? If you want to obtain full member access why not contribute to the site and share some of these places youve explored with us, dont post addresses or where it is or how you got in just show us some pics since you say you have 6 locations you could add? Id like to see your work.

Anyway my point was not to brag we all know Texas is big and we Texans sometimes do like to brag. But to show we got an almost endless supply of places to explore for those that actually want to explore.

When I see the threads from new explorers pleading for someone to tell them how to find places or where to explore I cant help but feel like they are missing the whole point of exploring.

that's where the exploring part comes from - exploring your area to find new places to explore. although the DB is a great resource!

You know, it makes me wonder how many places there are to explore in Texas towns that have such a low population, no one from the area has found us yet. I know of several places that I've come across on accident while travelling. It just takes so damn long to get from one place to another in Texas. Compared to the NE US, travelling from Austin to Dallas as I sometimes do is like travelling across several states.

Do you ever catch yourself wishing something would shut down just for the sake of exploring it? Is that bad? Maybe I should be in one of those insane asylums.....

Ontario Area: 917,741 km²

That's right, Texas is only 75% as big as Ontario but you guys have 26% as many locations as we do. Suckers.

Heh!
I think 2X would concede the fact but, since his statement was "UE Nation" rather than "United States" he left himself open for it. Although we all would probably agree that UE isn't really a contest of numbers, this kind of good natured rivalry is good for morale and might possibly get some lazy. fair weather explorers off their sofas.

Now be fair.
You said "UE Nation" That implies a nation of urban explorers which would be exclusive of geographical borders...

Let's not forget that many location are not posted; they are either boring or too sensitive; and some don't bother. This shouldn't be a competition.
you want locations I'll add a shitload to NY, but half will be crap only I am interested in, the other half, I'd really rather not have on here.

Ever NY explorer; post a crap house you have visited; then we win.

But like I said It's not a race.

Although I gotta say I admire your competitive spirit but it really has no application here.

I got your tour winner right here pussies, at least he'd crash out trying.
