forum "read/new/unread" posts question

maybe i missed something along the line, but aren't the dots next to the forum posts supposed to be colored?

the only one i get is the partially yellow one that is supposed to show up when i have posted, but there have been no new posts since i posted. even if there HAS been a new post, it is still only grey/yellow. and every other post, whether i've read it or not is just grey.

do i need to turn something on, or is there a glitch?

sorry if i sound like an idiot...

go here: http://www.uer.ca/..._profile.asp?fid=1

go to special settings and options

scroll down and click on enable forum read states

that should change it.

I think.

There's no manual, Av hates documentation. I guess you either have to figure stuff out on your own or post about it in forum issues and have everyone think you're slow.

There are probably about 500 features on this site that no one even knows about

How about a "UER Manual" Wiki or FAQ of some kind? That way mods and level 3 users can add info about features and save Av the trouble of explaining what stuff does.

It could also include a section for requesting and voting on new features, I know there have been a few long-term requests which never happen due to unknown interest levels, and a lot of features which pop up and don't get used or even finished when no one realizes they're available.

A wiki is a *much* better idea, though ;)

Especially since everyone can edit it, and there's no '24 hour edit lock' or such crap.
