Landmark Tower in Fort Worth

I saw an article in this Sunday's Star Telegram about the 30-story Landmark Tower in Fort Worth being demolished. The article and pictures say/show that holes have been punched in the walls of the basement, 1st, and 2nd floors. Sounds like an invitation to me

Wow! I cant believe there gonna implode this building!

Workers with Midwest Wrecking Co. in Fort Worth use front-end loaders to remove debris from the 30-story Landmark Tower at Seventh and Houston streets in downtown Fort Worth. The building's owner, XTO Energy, plans to implode the building this spring. Vaughn Vennerberg, an executive vice president with XTO, said the building's previous owners had tossed debris from the upper floors into an elevator shaft. Workers are digging a hole in the parking lot to get to the basement. Holes have been cut in the walls of the basement and first and second floors on the building's north side to remove the debris, he said.

I just thought I would let everyone know that the Landmark Tower demolition is tentatively scheduled for March 18, 2006. It also just so happens that we have the best seat in town to watch it all go done. This seat, also happens to be abandoned, but everyone and their dog has been to it so nothing exciting there exactly. Sorry, no killing of 2 birds with one stone this time

So, MARCH 18th, MARCH, is the date of the demolition. I was confused on this point, but the morning was actually rather pleasant. Hope nobody slept out in the cold. I hung out a while, then talked to a guy who informed me I was an entire month early, haha.

7am

Those stairs are quite a climb.

Haha, in my defense, more than one acquaintance was confused on the date as well-- unless it was all some sick joke to get me up early.

Do you speak from experience? I talked to a guy at Spiral Diner in FW that climbed 'em. Was that you?
